Not as strong as previous summers but multi player arcades are usually fun. Monday Night Combat sounds interesting and Hydro looks great for an Arcade game.

Just bought Family Feud on PSN. I'm easy when it comes to casual games. As long as its multi-player.

How about, take someone who does not think PS+ is worth it, and add the following to PSN -

Consistent game invite system
Voice Messaging
XGame and Party Chat
ESPN
Better online store
Better network performance
True parental control
True blocking/muting/avoidance of gamertags

And then ask if I will pay $50/yr for it now. The answer is yes.

Having total parental control of a kids online experience and capabilities is worth $50/yr.

Sony says it is no longer taking a loss on hardware sales. So you would have to say they no longer view it as a failure.

>>And guess what, if your PS3 breaks and you have to send it in for repairs, Sony sends you the box, the shipping label and the strip of tape to seal the box. Only thing you have to do is drop it off at UPS.<<

What? You must be a stupid American. You bought a product that fails. Oh, I guess if they fix it for free it's OK.

....

The bottom line, Microsoft's return policy has saved their market. You can deny it if yo like, t...

Actually, American buyers like companies that replace their products for free. It's a phenomenon. It actually builds trust and brand loyalty. Americans are notorious for forgiving if you do the appropriate mea culpa. Just ask Bill Clinton and Tiger Woods. Works for everyone, except Jesse James.

Just sent in a RROD Elite. Out of warranty but RROD warranty extended 3-years. Only cost me a little time to print prepaid label and drop it off at nearest UPS store.

Didn't take off like PS2 because of price. It still costs too much to take off like PS3. Then again, so does XBOX. The only one cheap enough to take off like PS2, was Wii.

The first next gen console to get to $149 w/60G hard drive will take off like PS2.

XBL is the best paid service. PSN is the best free service.

I think the hate is when attempts are made to down XBL. Unfortunatley or fortunately, PSN was so far behind, they had to offer online for free. Nothing wrong with that. Now, they offer the pay part and many view that as not being worth the cost.

Of course free online is great. But that does cause PS+ a problem when it comes to proving its worth. Everyone can understand services like xgame chat, ESPN, etc. It's harder for those who don't buy themes, XBLA or PSN games t...

Robbie, Mr. Xbox. Rumor is he wasn't happy about shelving the courier tablet. The phone guy is actually still there.

Rumor says he went off on Ballmer over courier. You don't go off on Ballmer's crazy azz and stay.

I think Kin was the hardware version of WindowsME. Just a shoddy stopgap to buy them some time. Windows Phone 7 devices are supposed to hit retail in October.

Good read. Very interesting. Pretty cool to see a software company fail with a software development mentality in the hardware business.

I'm not sure this isn't the way most manufacturing works only to a much lesser degree. I guess we should be glad MS can afford to replace them all for free. Because they are replacing them free, it's easier for me to accept that they did what they had to do to get into the market and now we have a great platform and Gears and XBL....

I agree somewhat. Fanboyism basically stifles innovation. Refusal to creatively criticize a platform no matter what does nothing to encourage improvement. Case-in-point the chat features of PSN. Everyone knows it is a desired feature and PS3 fans were clamoring for it before they found out PS+ wan't delivering it, then suddenly it was totally useless. Right. That puts not pressure on Sony to deliver it.

I also agree that RROD is ridiculous and I don't think anyone giv...

Since the guide is not free, this should be removed as SPAM, it's an ad.

Actually, there is. Microsoft is handling them well under the 3-year warranty so no owners are really complaining. But yes, it's still and issue and will be for some time.
