I agree with all the online stuff, except both communities are about the same. XBL just makes everything more accessible, it's more social because of it.
But the multiplats I have, RE5, Burnout Paradise are waaay better on PS3. I'm glad I have both.
Agreed. When it comes to available content, I give the nod to XBL/XBLA. When it comes to what you get free with your subscription, PSN. But I'm not interested in those things. Since it's an annual one-time fee, both are worth $38-50.

I believe the restricted movement as well as limited field of vision was a cop-out way to increase difficulty.
Someone else who appreciates the co-op in RE5. I thought the AI was OK. Did you ever change from cover to attack? I love the trophies for saving partner and thanking partner (or complimenting for head shots).
Dead Rising was the pappy of Zombie games. If it were to ever come to PS3, I'd buy it again. I don't think 2 will be as good as the first, but we'll see.
For that you need a really good steering wheel, gear shift, and pedals.

I disagree. As a button masher, I haven't been able to finish GOW III. Booring. Unlike the best button masher this gen, Heavenly Sword. The graphics were above average but I didn't see anything the Xbox couldn't do. Don't know that the Xbox could do Heavenly Sword. PS3 barely could, would love to see it optimized and re-released with trophies.

That's what's wrong with games. Resolutionitis. Doesn't necessarily look better. Remember VGA images? Lower resolution than EGA but more colors made it photo-realistic. Game artists are less creative thanks to high res. That's also why you have to have a top-end PC to get console class game performance.
True artists need colors and textures, not 1920x1200+ resolution.
XBLA is still King and I'd buy and Arcade for $149 just for these (When my elite gets back from RRoD repair, I'm getting MTG Expansion 2):

To make it more than just a special effects fad you have to actually interact with the 3rd plane, depth. We don't have controllers to do that. Virtually reality was a fail. 3D will be cool, especially without glasses just for the special effect. But to really change things, we have to have 3D controllers that are as effective and efficient as current 2D controllers.
What I mean is that people have always expected 3D to wow them. That it will be the end of 2D. It's really cool when it works, but becomes disappointing when you realize it's not going to change things as much as you thought. With each technical generation 3D comes back and is supposed to change everything. This generation we have powerful consoles, TVs, and Bluray. It will be awesome at moments, and disappointing, as it has since the red/blue glasses of the 50s.

Great idea. I would love an ATSC version for the states to record OTA HDTV. Only drawback is front USB ports.
Until it gets stateside with ATSC and a rear USB Model (PS3 refresh?), I'll stick to Windows Media Center. XBox is an extender and PS3 can stream the new WTV recording format natively.
I think it's the nature of 3D since the 50's. Moments of awesome, moments of disappointment. I felt the same about Avatar. I don't think that will change.
Mostly they're ruining the online forum experience, not gaming. However, because they play the same FPS' over and over with different textures you could say they are ruining gaming.

Actually it is. Try High Stakes Poker with Audio + Video. The worse things I've seen were on PSN (Klan Robes and hanging a black doll, woman defacating on cam) and the worse things I've heard were on XBL (really vile racist jokes/comments).
