Hitting the stores in six months. Now with almost four different locations, 86 side quests, no main quest and three homosexual dwarves.

Alright, actually I did enjoy the first 15ish hours of DA2 :), but then I got fed up with running through the same recycled locations over and over again and stopped playing.
I might buy DA3 if vast improvements are made in that area.

I've played for four hours now and I've settled for lowering the resolution to 1680x1050. The graphics settings I'm running is medium with a few tweaks towards high.
My framerate is in the 30s most of the time, going up to ~40-50 now and then. Not a completely smooth experience, but perfectly playable without giving me headaches and nausea (which I tend to get with PC games that frequently dip below 30 fps).

I've also tried a 1280x800 resolution, wh...

(Extremely minor game opening spoilers below)

I just started playing, somewhat optimistically going for medium settings at 1920x1200 plus a couple of minor increases in the advanced graphics settings (much of the advanced stuff - eg. light shafts and various depth of field and blur effects - is simply flat out disabled). ~20-35 fps, mid 20s most of the time in the three different locales I've seen in the early minutes of the game.

Time to try lower se...

I'm downloading the game from Steam now. I'm also looking forward to seeing how my aging GTX 260 (and a quad core CPU) will cope - based on posts on the Steam forum it sounds a bit like the maximum settings are intended for future hardware, a bit like the case was with the original Crysis.

Medium settings and no AA is the very best I'm currently hoping for, certainly if I plan to run at the native 1920x1200 resolution of my monitor, and that's one setting I ...

These PSN articles certainly do seem to be getting dumber by the hour - which is quite a feat considering the level on which many of them started out.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed this rumor is true. I still load up WipEout HD Fury now and then (and it's going to be one of the first I try out when I buy a 3D TV in June) and I would love to see another game in the series.

Much too harsh a score in my opinion, as I wrote in the comments section on the review.
For a loot heavy action RPG it's pretty damn good in my opinion, with enough of a twist on the usual formula to make it stand out a bit.

From those who have been playing longer than me (I've clocked around seven hours so far, a mix of solo play and pickup groups through the matchmaking system) it does sound like future patches may need to address some issues that start o...

Does anyone actually use the default FemShep? Unlike the default male Shepard who's modeled after a real person if I'm not mistaken, FemShep is just a mildly attractive but pretty bland product of the character generator.

Fortunately the character generator is robust enough to produce far more attractive (or whatever features you prefer) results.

But face aside, it is pretty nice to see a kickass female character in full body armor rather than hot...

No shit Sherlock.

Wasn't it glaringly obvious - even if you hadn't read one of the articles saying that you need either the original console OR email activation - that you wouldn't need your original PS3 to reactive your account?

Surely Sony have demonstrated that they can make some technical blunders here and there, but I can't imagine they would be quite so stupid as to presume we're all still on our first PS3.

I played Warband a little as well, but it failed to get me hooked past the first few hours. Although that may actually have had more to do with the strategy game elements rather than the combat and RPG elements - I was just never a big fan of the strategy genre, even though I've given it a shot, both turn-based and real-time, numerous times over the years.

Interesting as a tech demo, but obviously utterly useless as a replacement for a mouse - which I imagine it would still be even if it could track the individual joints of your fingers (which at best might put it slightly behind a mouse in speed and precision, while leaving your arms and shoulders tired very quickly).

I've never tried Kinect myself, but I imagine it's potential don't exactly lie in trying to compete with well established precision input methods -...

Too low a score. It's no iRacing or netKar Pro in the simulation aspects (but it's not really too far behind the ISI engine sims), but I've been enjoying the PC version immensely for weeks - although it took some time to dial in some good force feedback settings for my Logitech G25 through the Profiler software (it didn't feel too well with the typical recommendations), and additionally the default setups for most cars are way too soft.

Yep, for a game of this type The Hunter looks very good indeed (distant trees could do with a bit of an improvement though in my opinion, but reportedly there's a graphics engine upgrade coming in the future) - and the new area adds some extra diversity to the landscape features.

I've never hunted in real life (nor would I feel particularly inclined to unless it was for survival) but it's also surprisingly thrilling to sometimes spend half an hour tracking your ...

As long as they do a good job I really don't care much if they are movie stars, popular TV actors or "only" voice actors.
Mass Effect 2 had a pretty spectacular combination of all three groups (and Jennifer Hale - "only" voice actress - remains my favourite).

It doesn't seem like Move would be a particularly good fit for an action-adventure game anyway. For combat perhaps (I love using Move + Nav Controller in KZ3), but certainly a lot less so for all the running and jumping and climbing.

I would have loved the inclusion of 3D however, as I plan on buying one of the new 2011 3D TVs (the Samsung PS51D550 is looking most tempting at the moment) in May or June.

Since the PS Move implementation in VT4 is - almost unbelievable - reportedly even worse than in Top Spin 4, it sounds like there's no reason whatsoever to buy Virtua Tennis 4 anyway, since Top Spin 4 is clearly the better and more complex tennis game if played with a regular controller.

A few thousand mods have been released for New Vegas - why does this one in particular deserve a news spot here?

The user scores and reviews are just one part of Metacritic - and arguably the least relevant one (by far the least relevant one in my opinion).

None of the best PC sim racers can match the high budget arcade or "semi-sim" racing games in terms of visuals - they all run on outdated graphics engines. Even a subscription based game like iRacing doesn't exactly give the developers Codemasters or EA sized budgets to work with, so they naturally choose to favour the simulation aspects over visuals.

However specifically in terms of accurate track details - and very detailed texture work on the newer tracks -...

I wouldn't mind longer travel distances between event points, as long as the scenery is beautiful, as it certainly looks to be in Skyrim.

The game world in Oblivion just felt a little too compact for my taste - with those far off vistas (which unfortunately also weren't all that beautiful because of the limitations with distant landscape textures and objects, even on the PC version) only a few kilometers away.

I think my ideal game world would be ...
