Yes, we need a new generation of consoles, sooner rather than later.
It's all well and fine that the current ones can pull off graphics that don't fall too far short of PC in screenshot comparisons, but that means running those graphically intensive games at 720p or less (and this low resolution is definitely a bit more obvious in its flaws on my new 51" TV compared to my old 40") - vs. the typically 1680x1050 or higher PC gamers will be using on much smaller screen...

And it's not even made by Gameloft? :)

That sounds somewhat implausible. I'm on a 50 Mbit connection, and at full speed (6 MB/s, though I usually "only" get 2-3 MB/s on PSN downloads) I can download around 3.6 GB in 10 minutes.
So you'll need a rather whopping 200+ Mbit connection to download 15 GB in ten minutes. Never mind the 400+ needed for your initial five minute claim.

Though I guess there may be some countries in Asia and perhaps a few other places where you can in fact get Int...

I only got around to play one match last night. The graphics were pretty good, but it unfortunately looked like they took quite a hit in 3D mode with what - based on my brief impressions where I was more busy getting constantly butchered and respawning than admiring the scenery :) - looked like either lower resolution or missing anti-aliasing. Even on the menu screen, switching to stereoscopic 3D instantly results in some pretty obvious and rather unattractive jagged edges.

I played a little of both Shadow and Ico on PS2, but never got very far in either. I'm looking forward to making up for that with this HD collection - and I'm quite thrilled that it's also going to be in 3D, as I haven't actually been doing a whole lot of gaming on my new 51" plasma 3D TV so far.

2-3 hours to download 1.7 GB on "a good internet connection". What year is this? 2001? :)

When my 50 Mbit connection maxes out at 6 MB/s - which it does fairly regularly these days from some sites and download services - those 1.7 GB would be downloaded in around five minutes.
I usually "only" get 2-3 MB/s from the PSN store (and on bad days a lot less, but that's fortunately relatively rare), but that still only amounts to a 10-15 minute do...

The short 3D trailer for Uncharted 3 on the PSN store certainly looks impressive, although only the last few clips are actual gameplay rather than CGI-trailer.

In their 2011 models, Samsung has 3D even in the midrange 5-series (as a matter of fact for their plasma models they even have 3D in the D490, although that's only a 720p rather than 1080p screen).
I bought a 51" Samsung D550 3D plasma last month - a quick Google search suggests that prices start from around $1,000 in the US (and take note that we're talking about a pretty large screen here, although the smallest of the plasma models). Not surprisingly I had to pay a bit...

I lost Tali on my first playthrough. No way in hell I'm going to carry that game save with me into ME3 - I'm not going to play the final chapter of the trilogy with one of my favourite characters missing :).

I'm leaning more towards 2014 :p. But maybe Blizzard has been moving a little faster through their endless "polishing" phases in recent years?

Looks very interesting. I've very recently been toying with the idea of trying to work with Flash - mainly for a couple of game ideas I have - but needing to learn a programming language sort of put me off that (I tried learning Java some years ago, but while some of it did make sense, even at that basic beginner level my brain was already threatening to have a meltdown when I had to work with even the most remotely complex tasks :)).

Shame that Stencyl can't do And...

I just got my first smartphone today - a Samsung Galaxy S II - so I've had my head buried in the Android app store all evening :).

I must admit that I have a hard time believing I'll be doing a whole lot of gaming on it though, other than out of curiosity here in the first week or two. Although admittedly the (relatively speaking) large 4.3" screen does make for a slightly less eye straining experience than looking at the 3.5" screen of my 2nd gen iPod Tou...

Not surprising since that system is after all a tiny bit faster than mine :).

I'd buy a new console even if it "just" meant native 1080p, 60 fps (and perhaps things like higher texture resolution and always anti-aliasing) at the current level of graphical fidelity.
I'd most certainly prefer that to the game developers going all out on graphical details in the next generation again, so we'll still be playing 720p games at 30ish fps, just with shinier shaders and more light sources.

The last year I've been switching b...

Why would I want to try to create a character that looks anything like myself, or even shares the same gender? I'm controlling a character on a computer screen, not trying to imagine I'm a lesbian space marine :).

FemShep is the only way I can play ME. The male voice actor isn't bad - particularly in ME2 - but he's no Jennifer Hale (not that I expect he would want to be :p).

And with a little messing around in the face editor, you can make a very good looking FemShep.

It seems to me that you won't know what happens and who just blew your face off while you're busy looking down at the HUD screen in your lap?

I'm neither a huge FPS fan (though I do play them on occasion) nor have anything inherently against Nintendo, but I'm also among those struggling to see how adding an extra screen - outside your normal field of view - can help rather than hamper gameplay in many game genres, particularly fast paced ones.

Much improved Chloe - and Elena didn't really need much of an improvement.

But more important than the visuals are the wonderful voices of Claudia Black and Emily Rose :).

Surely no one with a PC that can run this at playable framerates, are still stuck with an ancient 4:3 monitor? Or do they actually still make those?

Perhaps Battle.net is yet another example of a game integrated multiplayer system that Microsoft refuses to allow, because of their strict "closed system" XBL policies?

Well, at least those without a PS3 can still get it on PC (no doubt the platform I'll pick for that game anyway, despite owning both).
Much like us PS3 owners could still enjoy the Mass Effect series on PC long before ME2 was released on PS3.
