I think you are describing a bad game when their is ANY meta to follow.
And I don’t see how removing SBMM makes the game less meta-prone. If anything, it just seems to me to create an opportunity for mismatches in skill-level that make the outcome… predictable.
Why is SBMM so unpopular?
Do people enjoy getting stomped by players far superior to themselves?
It’s important to establish both successes and failures in order to make community engagement feel genuinely impactful, and not just a predetermined outcome on rails.
They obviously have a bunch of content waiting for deployment, and they plan to trickle it out at whatever pace keeps the community at their desired size.
The game is still much, much more popular than they ever planned. And antitank mines feel like small potatoes compared to the vehicles a...
What’s the controversy?
No PSN in your country? Refund.
Done.
Don’t like it? Then ask why PSN isn’t available to you, in your country. It might not be Sony’s fault…
Is that your big contribution? Your nitpick medal is in the mail.
Xbox was the Western answer to Sony.
They originally launched the Xbox years after the PS2, and at 50% higher retail price. That allowed Xbox to be “night/day” more powerful than the competition. THAT is what Xbox WAS known for.
Xbox charged $5/month for Live, and Sony kept their service free, allowing Live to be a much better online gaming space. THAT is what Xbox WAS known for.
Xbox had fewer games than Sony, but there were differe...
So M$, with all of their money, CAN’T, so Sony and Nintendo shouldn’t?
Maybe M$ should keep up…. That’s the key capitalism machination that M$ is trying to circumvent with the ABK acquisition.
And, that particular bear hug is backfiring. Owning the IPs isn’t worth much if you can’t manage anyone to make anything with them.
The Fallout show is a lifeline for both M$ and Bethesda fans. People clearly want them to succeed at the GIANT pr...
People wanted Xbox to succeed, especially after THE biggest media acquisition in history and effectively owning the entire existing Western RPG genre; but we knew they would fail, and they’d drag down an entire genre with them.
Nobody wanted this, but it was foreseen.
What a tone deaf response…. The award winning director of HiFi Rush is unemployed, and Phil thinks he’s hurting, too?
Phil would be the one unemployed over a year ago if HiFi Rush wasn’t timely available to help give Game Pass a much-needed good name as a supporter of innovation….
The irony is what hurts the most.
They tried to capture Nintendo and Fortnite players… good luck with that.
The amount of time posting a public complaint for this could be better spent just signing up already…
Oh no, that thing all online game make you do… clearly the game will be unanimously boycotted.
Clearly you haven’t played Helldivers 2.
Sony might do GaaS much, much better than everybody else. Time will tell if another studio can replicate Arrowhead’s setup with HD2.
It’s not for your friends or PSN messaging… it’s for a flexible link that can be posted anywhere online, as an open invite, and anyone can join your os5 game (imagine if streamers invited viewers to play with them via their chat log).
I’m looking forward to using this to make friends via my YouTube channel.
I see this as a way to encourage the community to utilize platforms like Reddit to organize as a community.
We decide which new thing we want, and coordinate accordingly.
That sounds like development Hell?
This game 100% would not be releasing without support, which they got from Xbox.
I wish Xbox made more games over the past decade, or any at all, but seeing them help this game exist gives me hope.
You should get into VR horror…. Alien Isolation would’ve been an ideal VR port.
Horror is scariest in VR, by far.
Thank you Xbox for saving this game from development Hell.
This is what contributing to gaming looks like.
Keep doing this. THIS is good for competition. *This* is good for all gamers, regardless of platform.
I hope these devs needed support to start/finish (like Stalker 2), vs are basically done with the game but wanted to secure an exclusivity-bonus because they know Xbox needs a system seller (like Titanfall).
It’s a bit strange that they’d rather invest in this game than Tangoworks’ TWO canceled projects; or just trust a single dev from their existing massive stable of talent to emerge with a system-seller themselves anytime soon.
Either way, it is just co...
