I wish folks would get off of the micro transaction hate. This is essentially an MMO. When they release DLC, everyone will have to have access to it, so a paid dlc model is out of the question if they want to maintain a functional freemode. I'd rather have a minority of people financing the release of new content and server maintenance than to have everyone to pay a subscription free. And as long as upgrades are locked by RP, the game won't become unbalanced.
I'm interested in AC 4 gameplay, I'm just not sure if Ubisoft did the right thing by making this an Assassins Creed Game.
I think they have an amazing engine on their hands. They could have just as easily made this an entirely new franchise, based around piracy.
This is great news. When I'm in a small party of 2-4 people, and we only want to do missions, its a pain to keep going into free mode and calling characters for missions...
Glad to see we've moved beyond the 'downgrade' nonsense... The game has done nothing but look better and better at every showing since E3.
Don't get me wrong, this game looks like a lot of fun... but it certainly doesn't scream next gen gameplay.... this could be played on a cellphone (of course with a drop in visuals)... I'd play it if I had ps4, but it's no killer app.
You're right... in the sense that beyond two souls is just one big cut scene /s
I haven't seen any xbox fans denying the ps4 has more raw power... just fans claiming (rightfully) that graphical potential isn't everything. Yet also claiming (rightfully) that on day one, there are more graphically intensive games on Xbox One.
It's not like he's making the movie by himself. Obviously, he'll be working very closely with ubisoft to retain authenticity. I'm sure he'll at least watch play throughs... but he doesn't need to be a gamer to make the movie.
This is probably a good thing. Hopefully he'll focus on making a good movie, instead of videogame fan service... that's the approach that previous game-to-movies have taken, and it simply doesn't work.
People need to understand that story telling in a 10hr game with several games worth of backstory is much different than story telling in a two hr movie.
It's completely unfair to call this 'unneccisary' tech. Will every single game benefit from it? No. But creative developers will have plenty of use for it.
For example, those who make games in project spark, can make games that are designed specifically for touch interfaces, and my phone/tablet could be the only controller.
Or maybe I want to play a virtual card, board game, or game show. A touch device would be a better control method.

Actually, this guy completely misunderstood what was ring said. The folks who don't have the resources or the time to invest in servers/networking are the ones who will benefit more.
The vita wasn't a missed opportunity, it was just a delayed opportunity. It's best days are ahead.
The Vita's story is the very reason I don't understand why people are so quick to write off the Xbox one. In this business, fast starts are nice, but they aren't a requirement for success.
The ps4 and the improved PSN were the best thing that could have happened for the vita. I'm almost sure it will take off, not to mention there will inevitably b...
I know plenty, I've graduated from college 4 years ago. We used to have GOW/halo lan parties. I also had plenty of xbox live friends when I was in high school. I'd say There were about 20 people over that time frame that i knew personally and played online with. Only 3 of them still play.
I don't think they left because of mobile games, but I'm sure the occasional mobile game is all they play at this point...
Looks like a lot of fun. I actually liked Sonic Unleashed... Well until sonic turned into a warewolf... But the speed levels were obviously a great foundation to build on. It's a shame I won't be able to play this, (wont be getting a wii u any time soon), but its good to see Nintendo getting some quality exclusives.
I'm now thinking about holding off, but not because of watchdogs... It's because GTA online is so damn fun. And honestly, I don't think there is a single game next gen coming out in 2013 that could pull me away from it.
If hdmi in works between my 360 and the xb1 smoothly, I may pick one up, but otherwise I'll probably wait until spring 2014 to get my first next gen console.
You know, COD is no longer for me. It don't find it fun anymore. But I also don't see the need to bash Infinity Ward for their efforts to expand and cater to their existing fan base. It's hard to argue that 'reiteration' is bad for gaming, when their strategy brings so many people into gaming, who otherwise wouldn't do it. Who knows, these casuals might pick up some deeper titles at some point down the road.
Lol this article is a joke. He's implying that the Xbox One wasn't intended to run games....
There's something people need to know about tech product launches....
Everything is a work in progress... does anyone believe that Sony isn't still working on improving drivers? I swear at this point period are really scraping the bottom of the barrel to keep MS down.
We get it, you really like what don't is doing with the ps4. But let'...
The funny thing is, if rockstar was able to use Azure for GTA5, they probably wouldn't have had these issues. Since the servers would have spun up on demand, and are located all over the globe, they would have been prepared for any load on the servers from any location.
There are soooo many videos that show the combat is 'more than QTE's' that I can't believe people are still using the E3 demo in discussion.
Where have you been all summer?
I agree, they need to up the payouts in the competitive multiplayer missions. Why would anyone play Deathmatch and risk getting nothing when they can race for a few minutes and get a huge payout even if they don't win.
