@patlike.
Currency humor ftw. I laughed out loud.
If you want to play a game about beating stuff to death in horrifyingly gory fashion, then yes. I know I'm interested. ;)
Bad ports are why I rent all cross-platform games before I even consider buying them. It's sad, but I just can't bring myself to trust developers to crank out an equivalent product for both platforms.
The scores are different. That's why they reposted them separately. To be honest, I'm glad they did...It reflects the game's performance on each platform, instead of basing the review on just one.
I don't think depth is the point. I think beating stuff to death with a 2x4 is. :P
It's not supposed to be MGS4. It's just supposed to be gory fun.
The title of this N4G article is a bit misleading. Nowhere in the Register's article does it state that the 1TB disks will be Blu-ray compatible. They simply state that a Blu-ray compatible disk could be possible. They make no mention of that compatible disk's potential capacity.
Still, this is exciting. 5000p movies, here we come. ;)
WTB anti-aliasing, PST.
I actually tend to think that games can make you experience more emotion since you're actually participating in the story. The Darkness as a movie never would have made me feel anything, but the game did. Anyone that has played it knows what part I'm talking about...It was a mixture of disgust, anger, and sadness, all at the same time. That is one moment in gaming that I won't soon forget.
So true.
It *ISN'T EA.* Ugh. 2k Games is owned by Take Two Games. They rejected the buyout EA proposed, so they are *not* EA. :P
I actually agreed with you, but figured I'd say something anyway. ;)
I was initially very excited about this game coming to the PS3. However, if there isn't more to it than there is to the 360 version, I probably won't be paying $60 for it, either. It's no longer a new game, so there's no reason to charge a new game price for it. I'll rent it if that turns out to be the case. If it ends up being $40-50, or they add something to it/improve the graphics, I'll buy it in a heartbeat.
I wouldn't go that far. If all it does is allow you to reconfigure the shape of the controller for different types of games, it won't be that big of a deal, I don't think. Seems gimmicky, but maybe there's more to it that this rumor isn't hinting at.
This could be interesting, but it really depends on what they plan on doing. Having it change shape is dandy, but I don't think that repositioning the same functionality will improve anything.
As for the video store...Cool. I might have to buy a bigger hard drive in preparation.
Looks like the video might have been pulled. Can't get it to load.
That'd explain why IGN gave GTA IV's graphics a 10 despite the fact that it has severe aliasing issues. Haze's graphics got a 4 because of similar severe aliasing issues. Hilarious.
Still, this is MGS4 we're talking about. It'll be a 9 at least, regardless.
I wish they'd managed to make the foliage look like it did in the TGS video from '06. I'm guessing that was a pre-rendered video. Unfortunate.
Still, the animals look spectacular.
I'm inclined to agree with the author, honestly. The severe aliasing issues alone would knock GTA IV down to an eight for me. I can see why they kept gameplay videos from the public for so long after seeing the game in action.
It's still a good game, but by no means a ten, especially in the graphics department. I don't care how much you can render at once if it all looks like a huge wad of jaggies. :P
I actually posted that just after 5.4 went up. No idea why it appeared so late.
I don't think they will. They've already got 19 million people out there to bilk for money, and most of them aren't going to buy a PS3 just to avoid shelling out $50 a year for online play. Nevermind that they don't generally provide dedicated servers for said online play.
