This is an absolutely horrible idea. :P Thankfully, it'll probably never happen.

The Wii isn't "pummeling" the PS3 and 360. The Wii is being sold to a very different audience. It's not even in competition with the other two consoles because a) its games are designed to be excessively family-friendly, with virtually no adult themes, and b) it has very little graphical capability. It's essentially a PS2 with Nintendo's IP and a new controller, with gimmick "games&quo...

They won't beat the sales, but I can say one thing...They can't possibly make the game look worse than GTA IV. I wonder how Rockstar managed to make every single line in the game explode into jaggies every time you move. The effect is quite...Nauseating. :P

I really just don't see a point to doing this. What will it give to us that the normal controller can't?

I'm pretty Halo 3 was published by Microsoft, and that they own the Halo IP. That'd make Halo 3 on PS3 an impossibility.

How well would Mass Effect 2 really sell on the PS3 if Mass Effect didn't also make the transition? I know that I've no interest in purchasing a sequel when I can't play the original title.

This doesn't surprise me at all. The value of the euro is much higher than that of the dollar right now, so selling games in Europe is much more lucrative. *shrug*

That's a free market for you. ;) Guess we'd better get used to being #3 behind Asia and the EU.

Of course, there's another possible explanation for the delay here...And that's legal complications. I'm not sure what could hold up its distribution here, but you never know.

The difference between the scores of MGS4 and GTA IV will be that MGS4 earned all of its scores on quality, not pure hype. :P

To answer the subject line of this article...

No.

GTA IV has convinced me never to trust reviews in the future. I also won't be buying another GTA game...The game was enjoyable for about three hours, then it just got old. The horrible aliasing and clunky combat controls ruined it for me.

I don't see why they wouldn't want either mentioned, honestly. Most people interested in this game a) already know about both, and b) want to play it badly enough that they don't care.

Installs really don't matter, period, though...It's something we should all assume is coming in every game anymore. It's *NOT* a bad thing. It just means that the developer is using every aspect of the PS3's hardware to achieve optimal performance, and I want them to. Anyone with any sense would. :...

Sounds like they had someone that never liked the franchise that much review this game. Fail.

It'd be a pity if we missed out on Red Alert 3. I've always liked the C&C games.

Does it really matter how much they improve the graphics, given how bad the 360 impressions of the game were? The PS3 version of that game is going to have a *lot* to prove if they expect people to buy it.

The problem with GTA IV wasn't fanboyism, I don't think, but rather that not a one of the game reviewers out there had the stones to stand up and tell Rockstar that their game wasn't perfect. They could lose all access to the company when they do something like that, including both early access to the game in development, and access to early review copies.

Given that, whether it deserves the distinction or not, GTA is one of the biggest franchises in the industry, it is really di...

Buyer beware...Especially if you own an underdog console. Like it or not, we *are* second class citizens to EA.

This is why I rent all cross-platform games before I even consider buying them, and I recommend that everyone else do the same.

My local Walmart will be open at midnight of release night. ;)

For some odd reason, on release nights...There's 30+ people in line outside Gamestop, waiting to get their copy. However, if you walk across the parking lot to Walmart, there's no line, and they've always got the new stuff, too. It's hilarious.

Touche doesn't cover it. I think "owned" might just come close, though.

The PS Eye actually has several games designed for it up on the PSN, and also has some sort of video software you can tinker with. It's very cool stuff, although it is underutilized in gaming. Hopefully this trend takes off, and we see more mainstream games using the thing.

Is that something that is supposed to be coming? It sounds incredible...It'd be a lot less awkward than simply firing up XMB while in a game and maneuvering through the menus.

If they really do kick that out, I'll have to pick up the Eye camera myself.

Whateva, you just got positive feedback for pure creativity. O.o That video was something to behold.

Just out of curiosity, how is the voice detection on the Eye camera? Does it pick up a lot of game noise?

"Programming tools to support the update have apparently now gone out to developers."

*Now* I am getting excited. It was really all just rumor until the dev tools went out, although the PS Lifestyle blog had me convinced that it was pretty likely to come soon anyway. Now it is looking like we might actually see it in the next few months.

I'm not going to assume that the update will come before or at the same time as MGS4, though. The time frame is probably ...
