Your Elite premium membership says you get things on PS3 before regular members on PS3. Thats the system you picked so stick with it and don't worry about what people on the other systems get.
If the gamers that buy and play the game outnumber the whiners then they will keep making it. If it keeps growing more and more every year then they know more than the armchair industry analysts. I thought it had plenty of color, more most games. The thing about environment color is that most things are what they are. Snow is white, grass is green, wood most likely a shade of brown, steel and metal objects are going to be in brown to gray range. While I believe the Japanese devs need to stay true to their culture and style, they also need to evolve somewhat. Society evolves and peoples taste change. There isn't a perfect formula but they need to find a balance in doing what got them their in the first place, innovating, and also giving people what they want. All the Japanese developed games feel like they have barely moved forward from last gen.

Game journalism is no different than journalism for the film, music, television, and book industries. Generally critics, reviewers, and journalists are just not on the same level as your average consumer. Thats not to say the average consumer is dumb, but that the journalists often have a bit of an elitist attitude in their chose field and they seem to hype the positives too much, and make the negatives bigger deals than they really are sometimes.
