This wouldn't make a dent in the console market if its based off of Steam alone. You immediately eliminate all the offline customers. That OnLive is working out great isnt it.
Then is it more pc or more console? If it is still more of a pc focused on a mouse and keyboard it doesn't have a prayer in the console market. Console gamers and PC gamers are two different species. The big 3 console makers have nothing to worry about with this. Most likely this will turn out to be a P...
The American Revolution is the backdrop, nothing more. I doubt a game studio in Montreal that is owned by a French company is really trying to force some Pro-America agenda in the game.
The thing about WW2 games is that you are more confined by the era than modern games. You become more limited on weapons and themes unless you break out and go in a more fictional or alternate reality game. At that point is it a WW2 game or a game that just uses loose connections to WW2? Modern settings do not get old for me and you can expand upon the immediate past and immediate future.
So popular games with larger fanbases thus resulting in more exposure and a larger presence in the community all make the list? Judging by his post this guy is just one of those elitist gamer snobs and that knows more than everyone else and just hates anything popular. This is pretty much all that ends up on N4G these days. Let people like what they like and go find something you like instead of being some miserable schmuck telling them they cant talk about the stuff they like with other pe...
No way they would or should. Most of the COD sales are because of the multiplayer. Killzone 3 did not have near the success as was as expected so this could help gather intrest in the series again before Killzone 4. Sony has already has success going this way with DC Universe.
Jaffe is still co-owner of ESP and said he was going to be working on Twisted Metal through and even a little after its release.
Gamerscore was great at first. Then PS trophies came along and did it just a bit better. While the trophies/gamerscore usually have the same requirement to achieve. Trophies just changed the numerical value to represent a level. Slightly different but basiaclly the same. They just need some more work. Maybe they need some kind of reward or level system that just corresponds to the amount of time someone plays a game in addition to rewards for feats in the game. ANd they really need more creat...
No online multiplayer...I would probably be done with video games then. Its the only thing that brought me back into the video game world. Having played games since the Atari 2600, eventually everything seems like the same old stuff no matter what they do. The only thing that stays fresh is playing against human opponents. If thats gone I'll just go back to Poker and Monopoply.
Its actually doing the opposite of dying. There is no such thing as a "true gamer" and if there was, who decides the criteria? People can play COD or not play COD. Just becasuse someone plays video games does not mean they have to be in the lifestyle of playing all games. People who watch movies are not expected to like every genre of movie are they? So what if people just want to play one game or one type of game. There are tons of other games out there so people never have to play...
This article doesn't back any of its numbers up and only mentions NPD numbers. Plus it leads you to believe the game is suffering. It doesn't mention overall sales so far, or what the numbers were leading into January. The numbers I found say close to 27 million for Black Ops lifetime and 25 million already for MW3. They should be fine. If the majority of people were truly tired or fatigued with Call of Duty you would have to see a massive decline in sales. Something below 10 million...
It seems more likely that this would be a microsoft/windows/xbox tablet and not the next xbox itself.
No way will they drop the "Xbox" name. The next one will be an Xbox something, but will just have a name and not a number designation. The reason the 360 is 360 is first because Xbox 2 would sound inferior to the Playstation 3. They came with 360 to mean that the Xbox experience is all around the person, or 360 degrees. Xbox 8 would just boggle the minds of the uninformed. Xbox Infinity does sound good, but then what do you do for the next one? Xbox Infinity +1? Infinity plus Infi...
So what, somebody had to be the actor, why not her? Is it in the DNA of gamers that they must get butthurt and complain about every possible thing?
What it shows is the people that he's playing against are that bad.
1 person, 1 purchase, use of 1 item. If more than one person gets to use the stuff, great. I wouldn't exactly gather a lynch mob because a a group of people can't share the same dlc. If you have 2 or more people that want to all share the same thing, thats your problem, not anyone else.
Well if perks ruin the game for you, then anything after COD3 must be ruined. In that case COD is not the game for you.
Things like perks help expand the possibilities of the gameplay. The problem really isn't the presence of the perks, its that there are always balance issues. Competitive gamers want the game stripped of most of the maps, weapons, and perks turning the game into basically Counterstrike. People are always trying to turn one game franchise into another one. Knowing Vonderhaars love for competitive gaming, I hope he doesn't try to cater the game towards a very small segment of the custom...
No way. I am Alive was announced, forgotten about, and then re-announced as an XBLA/PSN title before The Last of Us was even announced. And up until then nobody even had a clue about The Last of Us.
If single player dies, its because they let it die. Both single and multiplayer games need to innovate and move forward. The same complaints can be made about both sides just doing the same things over. For me one major thing is to stop trying to make as many single player focused games have a multiplayer side. Keep it out of games like Bioshock and Mass Effect and don't even think about putting it in the next Batman. It just wastes resources for a tacked on multiplayer that could be us...
I have a feeling its going to be less of a full game and more of an expansion to Forza 4. 1 year after Forza 3 came out they sold the Ultimate collection as a platinum hits repackage. It wouldn't make sense to make and entirely new and separate game built rather build on the stable of cars in Forza 4.
