The fact that Call of Duty sells more than any other console game means that any attention wether positive or negative is going to be amplified. More sales, more press, more fans, and also more haters. I'm sure there can be some blind loyalty there as with any other game franchise that has fans, and even the blind loyalty to a specific console. I wouldn't be surprised if more than half the hate that COD receives in places like this is from people that don't even play the game. T...
Its a little uncalled for having the dev ask for votes, but this Metacritic fanboy crap has being going on for years. It used to be system fans down voting console exclusives. These days if you don't like the popular games you are supposed to have some raging hate for them. If you don't like a game, move on to something you do like. Let the people who do like it enjoy and and stop spewing the hate.
I don't know whats worse...that this is even thought to be an issue or that it has started such a fanboy war. Many developers do this. Its just a generic building? Why build one from scratch when you already have one ready to go. I'm still running through some of the same buildings and sheds in BF3 that were in Bad Company 1. The haters are really getting desperate for reasons to rain on everyones picnic.
I disagree with this article. But there is no right or wrong since it is all about personal preference. The many on either side of the fence and no side is any better. Consumers taste change over time, and if one side or the other dies its because there just isnt enough interest. I'm mostly a multiplayer gamer now. Gaming since the Atari 2600 days, very little on the single player side really wows me anymore. I enjoy the competitive nature of multiplayer, the progression, and the uncer...
You are so right. The millions that buy and enjoy the game are all fools. The minority that trolls negativity through comment sections actually knows better.
funny that everyone that has only seen videos says its crap, but everyone I've seen that has played it says its awesome.
No side is actually "winning". Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo have all had great success. All have won and lost to the other in certain areas. You can make an argument for any of the 3 depending on what topics you want to focus on and if you have any alignment with one brand or another. At this stage in the console cycle, even 3rd place has been a great success. Anything else is just fanboy talk.
As usual this is just splitting hairs. Both look close to the same. Some pics the xbox looks better, some the ps3 looks better. Both have some blurry shots. It depends on the pic, the scene, and if you swear allegiance to one of the systems. The only time either system shines is with exclusives...and for every Uncharted there is a Gears, and for every Forza there is a Gran Turismo. If there ever is a stinker its because of the developers and not the system. Both systems are great and are nec...
Get this article corrected. DICE said you will not be flagged or spotted. You will still show up in the mini-map, you will just not show up with the orange triangle over your head.
While this won't bother be at all, it is a crappy move. Like the writer said, not everyone has an online connection. Since this is not an online game there could be a large portion of the customer based that could be affected by this. They shouldn't have advertised the Catwoman part as much as they have if this was the case.
I like the idea of the season pass if done right. To me the EA Sports Season pass is a joke. But I bought the Gears and Forza season passes. I know 100 % that I'm buying all the Forza content, and since they raised car pack prices from $5 to $7, getting the discount by paying up front is a no brainer. Gears, same thing. I know I'm buying it so I'll pay up front for the discount in the long run. Everyone has different reasons it may be good or bad. For me, 30% discount is a pretty...
I'm for character customization in FPS if I get to seem my character. Menus, playercards, films, etc all show my character so I would be cool with it. But for the most part its a bit of a waste of resources. I really didn't like how Black Ops did it, changing your outfit based on perk. I got tired of ugly ghillie suits running around with SMG's. It works in games like Halo where you have armor that becomes blue or red, or in Brink where you have a dedicated design for each of ...
To be honest I don't play FPS games for the campaign. I'm a multiplayer person, so really I play the campaign just to get the story and out of a sense of obligation because I paid for it and its there. I would like to campaigns add a bit more variety. But I don't want 20 hour story on a game thats multiplayer focused. If they pull assets away from multiplayer to make a campaign, then multi could suffer. And thats where their bread is buttered. I think the Bad Company 1 campaign ...
They have been saying for months now MW3 will be 60 fps, its Battlefield that will be 30fps. I think I passed the time when graphics were everything about 10 years ago. And people who cling to the "COD is the same game every year" really have no clue or just refuse to do anything but hate on a game that more people care about.
Sounds to me like there is lot of Medal of Honor influence in this game. I know DICE only did the multiplayer of MOH but some of the feel is there. I think constantly trying to compare and create a battle with COD is a waste. If you want to generalize , then yes these games are similar. But in reality they are two different games. you just have to be in depth about how you discuss things. I'm looking forward to both.
I almost forgot...I guess dummy SWAT guy didn't know that pressing up on the D-pad (XBOX) will turn the tac lights and lasers off. So light discipline is built into the game...just nobody knows how to use it.
I don't play video games for realism, I got that from 8 years in the Marine Corps. But thanks for the heads up guy. I'm pretty sure most gamers figured out that lights, lasers, shooting, running, and any other type of activity could be a means to give our positions away. Play the game for what it is...just a game.
The Spec Ops:Survival mode uses the multiplayer maps. Do some research people. Everything that website puts out is crap.
He has valid points, but he is also going a bit overboard with his reaction.
fail article and fail comments. this isn't hacking at all.
