Gaming longer than Mario.

Too many assumptions tossed around when you don't know what this or the other consoles really are or what they can do. I think a console similiar to a mid to high end PC in terms of gaming abilities that can deliver Steam to my tv is great. What I want to know is what other things can it do? Now I don't need Home, Avatars, Kinect and another music service. But what will it do to keep me from buying one of the other consoles or just sticking with a PC? I don't have a blu ray playe...

I'm not going to put a lot into the Halo 4 theory since the year prior BF3 was released two weeks ahead of MW3. It might account for a little, but not the 14% decline. But what I will put stock in is the fact that MW3 came out on Nov. 8, and BO2 was Nov. 13. 23 sales days versus 18. And sooner or later fatigue and the state of the industry/economy have to play factors as well. No one single reason is responsible.

Hes not serious. Hes acknowledging the nice artwork by making a nod towards a hypothetical Criterion release like they do with movies. Don't read too much into everything guys.

Works for me in the US. Just make sure to state the country you live in is the UK to get the code.

This is what I would like too. As soon as anyone mentions AC and ninjas people flip out and say its been done to death. I would like to know where all these ninja games are over the past few years because I want to play them. Ninjas have been used in plenty of games, but nothing to the extent AC would use them. Ninjas, samurai, villages, temples, the weapons, the martial arts...it could be great. It just makes too much sense, so therefore it wont happen.

How about they keep the crap and add the DLC instead.

I really hope that 49.99 season pass price is a joke or a mistake. F3 was 10 cars/5 dollars, then F4 was 10 cars/7 dollars per pack. Now it looks like its going to be 6 cars/10 dollars a pack. I'm guessing the 49.99 reflects some form of "discount".

I saw more about this on another site today. Its a map pack consisting of two maps named and themed after areas from the movie. That does not make this "BIn Laden DLC". There is no appearance by Bin Laden or mission to kill Bin Laden. Yes I know what the movie is about, but that still doesn't make this "Bin Laden DLC". This is just a smart cross promotion.

Its not even worth arguing because all the arguments come down to personal preference and fanboy talking points.

I see what looks like a Warthog on the left but does anyone else see what looks like an aircraft in the center?

You are paying for the map packs, all other stuff is minor and just extras. Every day its a new reason for gamers to turn into a pack of crybabies.

I'm just going to sum up this article and all the comments right now.....

PS3 Fanboy....WAHHHHH! PS3 Controller is the best!
Xbox Fanboy.....WAHHHHH! Xbox Controller is the best.

Its all personal, you can make an argument for either controller. Its all preference. And yes, this includes the Dpad, thats just as subjective.

Types of articles that need to die....ones like this.

I think to be on a list like this you have to have a lot of hype, then turn out to be an total bust. Brink, APB, and Duke Nuke'em would be perfect examples. Not Halo Reach and Fable, they may have had a lot of hype, but depending on who you ask either met expectations or fell below it, but were hardly titles that should qualify as most disappointing.

I'm sure if you go back to the earlier years of the generation you can find a few.

While on one hand I don't mind a new game every year, now its just starting to get to be too crowded. With all the DLC they started tossing out recently for MW3, I feel its a little too late because I'm already ready for BO2. Now if you play other games in the genre or anything else it really is to crammed now. I wouldn't mind if they took next year off, and just let the Black Ops 2 content spread out a few more months, and give Infinity Ward/Sledgehammer/whoever an extra year ...

It was everywhere back then and still today. They print the damn thing on tshirts as much as the Atari symbol for nostalgia. I don't know how, but everyone knew it back in the day. Contra and the code were about as common as it got. Gamepro, EGM, and Nintendo Power had not even started yet.

Its not about knowing a cheat code, its about knowing a common piece of gaming history. I'm sorry it if offends you, but as with any subject if you know less, and experience less...

Alot depends on the type of game and what other things the game offers. That part always seems to get left out of the argument. RPGs definitely need to be in the 20+ hour time frame if all they are offering is a story mode. If the game does not have some other multiplayer or co-op mode then it needs to be long. Im fine with FPS and other action games that have a large multiplayer component being 10-12 hours. Now thats for the average player, not the "COD is my life" gamer. They are...

Now I give the younger generation a pass. But if you played a fair amount of NES in the 80's and don't know the Konami code then, you are not as much of a gamer as you think. Now if you are are under about 25, you probably don't have a chance at knowing it.

How about, when they make all these franchises next gen I'll go buy them and be happy (except Pokemon). And if you don't want to see them, you can just not buy them. Sorry, but these titles are not going anywhere unless them take a massive, massive drop in sales.

5067d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

I don't think its the DLC that changes things. People are already buying the game regardless of DLC. I would be that your average consumer doesn't even know what DLC is, or just buy the game an play it a few times, never downloading any extra content. You would most likely see a boost in sales, but I would guess 10% max.
