While I didn't use the plan myself. My friend did for his family. And he is certainly not a wealthy person. He'll probably make his teenage son pay for his membership. I get peoples issue when they look at the price they will be paying but thats just for 360. If people move onto the ONE its a good deal because only one person on the console needs Gold. People forget they will have to pay for multiplayer on PS4 now too, so unless they have a family plan the ONE will probably work out ...
I haven't seen this level of fanboyism on here in years. Its nuts. Just like what you want to like. Don't be a jerk is someone else likes something different. Both systems are going to great. The pro's and con's are too subjective to peoples individual tastes. People value things differently than others. The arguments just go in circles around here.
With that being said...you are still not being screwed over. You merely have to pay regular price for everybo...
The first launch console I had was a N64, and I was stuck with Mario and Pilotwings for 2 months until anything else came out. I had both Xbox consoles at launch, and at those days it was just had okay lineups but nothing I couldnt wait a bit for.
Console gaming has changed so much since the launch of 360 and PS3. The demand and expectations are different. The way the companies go about things are different. Both the ONE and PS4 seem to have good launch lineups as well. I don...
When it comes to competitive gaming, sport and athlete should be nowhere in the discussion. Now I get that "Esports
is a word that has caught on. But gaming is no more a sport than poker. Yes the mental abilities are tested, as well as hand eye coordination. The difference is the lack of physical endeavors that that actually defines what a sport is.
I do feel that gaming is a legitimate competitive activity. I'm not a fan of Starcraft myself, but I enjoyed w...
How exactly do you pay the rent, electric, and payroll with "charm"?
Well I agree not having to buy one in the first place would be great. Their claim is its built in as part of they system. Well they could make a system without one, but they wont. They want to force Kinect use on people for whatever purpose. But I'm at least giving into the idea that if every customer at least has one devs might be more willing to make better use of it. So my idea is if its in the box but its use is 100% optional then keeps most everyone happy. Microsoft still sells you ...
The only negative I find with the XB One is related to the Kinect. I get that they want to put one in every box so the devs know everyone has one. But it should never be required for the console to function. If people want to leave it in the box let them. What happens if someones kid breaks it? Don't say keep the kids away. Kids are freaking ninjas that get into everything. What about LANs and tournaments. All the consoles have to have the Kinects set up? So they have settings to turn the...
Including the Kinect was smart, making it required is the problem. I get that you want everyone to have one, and the developers know everyone has one. But it should always be 100% optional. There should always be a standard option and Kinect option when it comes to games and applications. Of course that would not apply to Kinect focused games.
What bothers me is what happens if this Kinect breaks and system wont run without? What if they do implement their patent to scan how...
I think this is more about the NCAA saving themselves from player likeness related lawsuits rather than not being happy with EA Sports.
Over the years there have been many lawsuits raised by players. Most get dismissed because they never used the player names for actual faces.
The way they restructured, shes more than just the Xbox head. Shes the head of all hardware and studio experiences like games and music. Not only the Xbox but the Surface as well falls under her. Under that umbrella you still have Phil Spencer as the head of Microsoft Game Studios. You then have another division head for all the operating systems across all platforms, and then a few other divisions with other people at the helm. This is not just about Xbox, its about Microsoft products.
I've always liked Dead Rising. If I had to pick Horror first, Comedy second or Comedy first, Horror second... It would be Horror first. So far what I have see excites me.
The adoption of new tech comes as the choice of the consumer. Digital music, movies, books, were gradually adopted by people. They were given as an option, they did not try to replace physical media. On one hand Microsoft was trying to get ahead in the digital gaming world. But they wanted it to be the only option. There were some benefits to their system, but some drawbacks. When more people have consistent high speed internet, without any bandwith caps, and can easily download 10-30 GB game...
So we can all use our Xbox 360 headsets on the PS4 controllers. Nice.
If I hear one more Youtuber start a video with some form of "whats up" I'm torching the place.
People are automatically assuming low income consumers all make wise decisions when it comes to how they spend their money. Nope. Many choose to spend their money on entertainment over more practical things. Its not up to any of us how they spend their money. What does matter is that still needing an internet connection for system set up still excludes people who don't have internet. These customers don't have to be launch customers, they can save their money or wait for a price drop....
They had multiple SKU's with the 360 but not the Xbox. Thats not enough of a track record to make anything more than a guess. Personally I would love for them to cut the Kinect and drop to $399. I just don't see it happening. Kinect is too tied to their whole entertainment hub idea.
Thats actually not a bad idea for a panel, unfortunately it goes way beyond gaming. Its in every corner of our news and media today. From games to politics, to movies, and sports. For every person that does something offensive, there is another person being overly offended and causing a issue where none exists.
Umm Cliff....news flash, some studios will go out of business anyway. The ones that make good games and manage their budgets won't have anything to worry about.
I understand both the dev and customer side of the used game/drm issue. I think both sides main arguments are a bit flawed. I get it must suck to see more people playing your game than copies sold and to have Gamestop undercutting your sales with used games. But no you do not deserve a piece of every used game sa...
It was inevitable that this was going to happen. People forget that the reason online play for PS3 was free was because it had to be at the time. Sony needed to make the PSN service look more attractive at launch than Xbox Live. Once PSN improved to be comparable to Xbox Live, PS+ was introduced. They couldn't start mid generation, but everyone should have seen it coming already.
Sure it could have been another mark in the "why playstation is better" column, bu...
Microsoft wasn't good about explaining things in the beginning and most people got the wrong idea about how the system was supposed to work. It wasn't that you could have 10 family members on a gold account. It was that a gold member could designate 10 people to share their games with. But there were restrictions such as only one person could play the game at a time, and it wasn't the full game but a timed demo. Thats a far cry from just designating people to fall under your memb...
