I agree, and I do have. :) Brand loyalty however, is a bizarre thing. People who have it can't see beyond it, and people who see beyond it, don't want it. If you understand me. I just enjoy games, not brands.
Zombie bashing.Survival rpg's, and all that with you buddies in tow. C'mon, done to death? Nah. Although, I take your point, not everyone is into Zombie games. Video games are a bit like books in this regard, there is only so many plots or styles however you dress it up. FPS, RPG, Plat-former.. etc.
The exclusive games are there. That's called supporting your platform and it's fans. There really isn't any counterpoint to this. There are many reasons why Sony are out in front, but producing games the fans want, is probably high up there. You need to be asking MS why they aren't doing it, not criticizing Sony for doing exactly what they should be doing.
Yeah, right. I should listen to a bear! In all seriousness, the line up looks pretty lack lustre, but you aren't kidding anyone Fozzie!
Appreciate the info. Thanks.
Am I the only one looking forward to SOD2. I think it could potentially be an awesome title, especially since it sports four player co-op. Damn, at this rate I won't have anyone to play with! Seriously, what's not to like about a Zombie killing, survival RPG with co-op play. Man you are a tough crowd to please :)
@morganfell
That's a very powerful rig you have, but surely you would agree that's above what most people would deem high end. That's quite extreme. You are prepared to run multiple GPU's knowing that you won't get near to doubling the power of a single GPU because of architectural hardware and software inefficiencies, for instance. And that to me illustrates what I'm saying. SLI or Xfire is a method of diminishing returns. Use two GPU's, and performance g...
That's a decent rig, and I'll wager your system was substantially above the price of an X1:) ? I do agree 4K isn't really required, but the industry wants us to have it, kind of like loot boxes.
Drives are so cheap per TB these days, that I suggest if you can afford a X1, you are already aware of this requirement, and it isn't a major concern. Still, if it is an issue, then my suggestion would be not to purchase an X1. It's not like you can't play all the games on a standard S.
Yes, I agree. CPU is a joke. Using a 6TF GPU, 12GB memory, excellent engineering and leaving it with a laptop CPU, is indeed a mistake. Still, I do think if devs develop from the ground up, playing to it's strengths. We may all be pleasantly surprised. If not, well there's next gen on the distant horizon.
I understand your point, but I do think you are underestimating X1X, and overestimating high end PC's. I would argue that while a true high end PC completely destroys the X1X on specs, there's a couple of slight issues with your comparison. I'd suggest that no matter how powerful your PC, no game will utilise that power fully, because no game knows your exact PC specs. If that was the case, current games would only run on the highest spec PC's, nothing else would work. However...
Please don't think I'm suggesting you aren't already aware of this information. But just as a general topic, here are just a few things(there are many others), it's worth considering when purchasing 4K TV's
1)Hdr specification requires 1000 nits (Most 4k TV's won't support this) , but it's a guide.
2) Cheaper 4K uses LCD panels. They may say LED TV's, but that's just the type of back-light used.
3) Currently your options are L...
Here's my prediction. Nothing will happen. Absolutely nothing. And it runs cool, because it uses clever tech, that's it. As for the games. There isn't many, new ones at least. The cost doesn't justify a machine solely for 'old' games. We'll see how it goes. I'm really looking forward to SOD2, but if more games don't appear, then I'll box it away or sell it. Simple as that. Currently, it has potential as the most powerful console out there, but that'...
I'm confused yet again, by N4G users. It seems to me the very same crowd who one day claim graphics aren't the most important thing, it's the games. Next day claim the very opposite when it's supports their argument. C'mon guys, when you flit back and forth like this, I really don't have a clue what point you are trying to make. It all seems to come to the same thing. You don't give a F**k about games really, you just want to win a juvenile pointless arguments over...
Altered maybe, still there, yes. No purchase, confirmed.
Owning all current major consoles, I have to agree. 'The console is shit' as you say, and well overpriced for the hardware it actually contains, but the Nintendo games are superb. Example; For my setup of console, pro controller, couple of games, usb/ethernet and 128GB SD the cost was over £508.00 and that's best prices! However, I've already sunk more hours into BOTW than any other game since the original HALO. And I've not even started Mario or MK8, yet. And yes, I ...
I love it, but it is well over priced, as are it's games. That has always been the case for Nintendo gear. It's crappy hardware, with superb Nintendo games. If there wasn't Nintendo titles, it wouldn't sell at all. In my opinion, it has nothing whatsoever to do with it being a hybrid console. I got it purely for the Nintendo games, doesn't ever leave it's dock. Handhelds simply aren't that popular, except in mobile phones, ask Sony and others.
So two hour games, now. I presume this costs no more than a fifth of a full game.
I disagree. I purchased mine purely for Nintendo games. Wouldn't dream of using it as a handheld, and certainly wouldn't buy 3rd party games for a switch when I can get them on my Scorpio or PS4. Each to their own. Don't give a hoot either way for achievements, though. I sometimes notice them pop on screen, but that's about it.
Yeah, think I'll get the movie... Oh, wait!
