Gamers funding game development, is one possible way to go. Look at Divinity II. Made by good developers, for gamers, let's see more of that. It's time for new a new model of game development.
They'll use this to plan future DLC. Yep, lots of small games with loads of DLC is incoming. Just MT's to get them used to now. Nearly, there guys. Way to kill the industry.
Really liked that game, and Blue dragon.
When I suggested Switch was great for Nintendo exclusives, but few would choose it for multi-plats, I was informed by many disagrees, that many fans would choose to play multi-plats in held-held mode. So, other than those who only have a Switch OR those that like to play multi-plats on the go, nobody else would choose to play multi-plats on a Switch, for the very reason you state. Unless someone can explain why I would choose to play a much weaker version of a game on a much weaker platform. ...
Once MT's are established, they will ensure physical copies of games become unavailable. No used copies to allow people to circumnavigate their revenue streams. More control, more money.
Some do some don't. Nothing has really changed on that front. Although, years ago we didn't have online play, so in that respect you are correct.
I think advocating to buy 'used' is a sensible compromise at this point in time, id you must buy games with MT's. However, the industry is doing it's best to stamp out physical copies. Once MT's are fully established as the main revenue stream for games, they'll be after ensuring you can't buy 'used'. It's not rocket science, companies want money now, what happens to the industry as a consequence doesn't concern them in the slightest.
Being a skilled player, wouldn't you much rather be up against another skilled player who, like yourself, is skilled because they have earned it. Or are you okay getting defeated by someone who has little skill, but lot's of money? Of course, it your choice, I would never say otherwise.
Very true.
Well, you could use mine, but I need it right now! Shocking reveal. :)
Actually, I forgot about SOD2 and sea of thieves. Well, PUBG too, if I'm honest. :)
Certainly agree with the loot boxes. At least two games I would have purchased, won't now get purchased.
I agree. This isn't an MS being different from others, kind of situation. All 4K is gonna be large, and it's gonna be coming to an ISP near you. MS, if anything, are actually trying to be proactive here. They are looking into compressing files and ensuring you only download files you need. One of the barriers is the throttling of your bandwidth by ISP's. They're the ones at fault here. Crappy bandwidths and capping are your enemy, not 4K. Although, I still don't understand...
Nonsense chris235. They haven't listened to ANY customers, minority or majority. They have listened only to shareholders! Gamers, other than being the revenue stream, had no input into this whatsoever. Since we're being honest.
Can we see a closeup comparison of the Pay to win loot boxes, please. Bet they are identical!
And where did you think that would lead to? It's not your fault obviously, but being accepting of loot boxes, regardless of type, was only ever gonna lead to this point. I'm not that smart, but is was obvious to me.
But, no it's fine, really. Just ignore them. Blah blah. Would those who espouse that philosophy, like to step forward now, please. Suckers!!
No,no! It's fine, just don't buy them, ignore them. Yeah, right. Suckers!!
I have to say, that since the X1X has been in development for so long, you would expect to have a least one awesome game to show of it's capabilities. Yeah, there's Forza 7, but a racing game, really? I have the console, and I've already since big improvements on non patched games which is cool, but unless MS has secrets up it's sleeve it's gonna be hard to convince people to get on board. I'm a collector, so for me, Scorpio edition makes sense from that perspective. I...
Instead of dropping £50.00 on this crap, how about funding independent game development where gamers get a say. It's been proven to work. And don't under estimate our influence. I'll bet most of us who are a little more aware have informed casuals about what to buy and why. We also need to press the industry for a system of designating games with a value rating based on the amount and type of MT's I.e how much on average would you need to spend in order to complete a game...
