Next year's E3 would be right before this speculated July launch, they would have to come out with a price well before that.

That is equivalent to $650 right now. Nintendo is crazy if they think that is a good idea.

No! MY apples are better than your oranges!

They are both solid games but far different in play and pace. If you like Battlefield better that is fine but I am liking the actual teamwork that goes on in Brink far more.

It is a small game site looking for hits by giving an inflammatory score. Not that surprising, happens all the time.

and you would know this how, through your massive online experience with it through the PS3? Troll.

the game has nearly 20 8s and 9s besides joystiq's 2/5 (which is now being questioned as to reviewer playtime) and G4 and 1UP's low scores. The scores are all over the place, not all good or bad.

Just look at the score spread in all these reviews.

I didn't compile it all, most of it was on their forum compiled by some members there.

It doesn't make sense to judge a game on one review anyway. My process is to read a bunch, talk to some people who have it if I can, and then decide. Taking one score as gospel makes no sense especially with a game with scores this erratic.

All that said, I played this at PAX already and loved it and my preorder copy will be here tomorrow. If I want a game some per...

here you go, scores ranging from 2/5 stars to a 9. Scores are all over the place so you are better off reading the reviews and weighing the positives and negatives that pop up multiple times then seeing if you want the game. As always.

Scores are all over the place. How can a game get 4s and a 9s from different review sites? It seems to be polarizing for reviewers thus far. When you see scores spread that far it basically is showing that specific players will REALLY like it and others will HATE it. A "you get it or you don't" game, as it were.

I played it at PAX East on PS3 and it looked good, played smooth, and was a lot of fun.

People look for ways to turn statements into what they want to see and use it for justification for assumption. SD did closed betas on the PS3 only and gave it extra attention, probably due to that unfamiliarity and to overcome it.

Quake Wars for consoles wasn't made by SD, they were ported by other devs.

Nerve made the 360 version and Z-Axis made the PS3 version, Activision published both.

yeah, I am going to go ahead and assume that is supposed to be May 15th and not until next March.

agreed 100%. Played Brink at PAX and it is a long awaited breath of fresh air in the shooter genre for me.

"Skimping?" "Too much work?"

hardly.

Adding female characters isn't as simple as copy/pasting skins on males if you do it properly. It takes a lot of time and money out of a budget as it is effectively doubling an aspect of development. It takes new concept art, character design, customizable item design, new motion capture, new voice work, and a mess of calibration to the movement systems. Then you have to balance sizes and hitboxes,...

I played it at PAX a couple times and thought it was a ton of fun. It you like team shooters you will like Brink. People were waiting in line for 2+ hours to play and doing it multiple time over the weekend show to come back and play again.

I played it a bit at PAX and it the deathmatch felt like a bit of Tribes (movement and jetpacks), Team Fortress (classes), and Halo mixed (low bullet impact and weapon feel).

The only thing I really didn't like is any time you "kill" someone they drop to the ground and can be picked up, which is fine in a close combat game but it makes no sense playing Recon. If you snipe someone you have to run/fly across the map to melee kill them to finish them or you get no ...

really good read. IGN has done some good articles on Brink, between this and the sound one. Can't wait for this game, they seem to have put a lot of thought into ever aspect of it.

I got to demo it at PAX a couple times and it played awesome.

Section 8 Prejudice just announced server rentals for 360 so it can be done.

Hopefully more companies do it on console as time goes on.

Valve had P2P and hosted servers for L4D2 on 360 as well with a choice option in the lobby setup. At times P2P worked better around launch due to swamped servers though...

Brink isn't online only, and unfortunately you have to clarify now because not every FPS game that should have dedicated servers does. It isn't an announcement of a feature as much as an acknowledgement that they care about gameplay and aren't in it only for the money.

Yes, but not through live. He was hacked through social networking (his own website) which compromised his passwords and then the person used the password to access his XBL account. Same end result but it wasn't a direct hack through Live.
