these bundles are great. I bought 13 of the last Indie Gala packs, one for myself and a dozen to give away. Between these, Humble Bundles, Indie Royale, Facekick Bundle, and Be Mine Bundle you could get a ton of games for cheap, while giving money to hardworking devs and good causes.

Ripping out the enchanter, removing ID scrolls (I like this change), adding town portal back, taking out "on field item breakdown", taking out rune drops and making it a leveling system, etc.

The Humble Bundles are great. You get good games at a discount, the devs get some support, and you can give a bit to charity. I will be grabbing this next one for sure.

Diablo 3 is definitely a step in a different direction in mechanics but that is to be expected when you go a decade without a game in a franchise and basically the entire team making it is different people, from the top down. A lot of the mechanics have been streamlined and simplified, which has positives and negatives. They went with a lot of new ideas and with the last handful of beta patches have been slowly carving them all out. No more on field item breakdown, no more rune drops, putting...
I am not expecting anything major either. I am just happy they finally don't have the D&D license anymore and Hasbro can go find someone to make games that do the content justice now.
Both games are going to be good. I played the heck out of Fate and Torchlight and even moreso D1 and D2. I am testing in the D3 beta now and it is going to be solid, but I am definitely excited for Torchlight as well. It will probably come out at $20, has a higher co-op cap, won't require and always on online connection, will allow modding, etc. It definitely has some things going for it.

I am interested to see how the NYC ones fly tomorrow, I am in eastern CT, if they go 60-100 miles like the SF ones they could get reasonably close to me (especially considering the normal winds in the area go east and northeast from NYC.

It was removed from every description at retail. Gamestop, Amazon, Buy.com, Walmart, Target. None of those outlets list the extra character as a part of the CE. That is why I skipped the CE and now would have to shell out $70 for the regular edition with a character that should at least be included in the online pass as Shale and Zaheed were in previous Bioware/EA games.

Destructoid just did a "how to" rundown of mods for the game that made me want to go back and play it again. It is one of my favorite games of all time but I haven't played it again in quite a while. I would definitely grab it on steam, I have been eyeing it on GoG for a long time and almost bought the collection on Amazon before I found out it didn't work with some of the mods.
I am slowly going beyond "anxiously awaiting" this game and approaching "gradually resenting" their methods.

I played Atari, Colecovision, Intellivision, and the TI before I had a C64 but I had a ton of good gaming memories on that system. Mail Order Monsters, Karateka, and Bard's Tale would probably be my top 3 on that system. All on 5 1/4" floppy disks!
