It is definitely nice when devs take those extra steps. Splash Damage is doing similar stuff with Brink. They went to Nevada and recorded 40+ source guns for all fresh sound from different distances. They have a dev diary about it on their site.

I can't wait for Brink and for Battlefield, team based shooters FTW.
First off that isn't even what attach rate is, attach rate doesn't mean not playing a console after a while. It is the number of games (in percentage form or ratio per console) that sell in relation to a system.
Second how does that have any relevance to wanting a P90X game on kinect?
Off topic AND trolling, ridiculous.
In P90X there is no easy way, just a "slightly less hard" hard way. :)
It is a cool idea though. I don't know if I would buy a Kinect for it since I already have the program but it would be a cool way to use the tech and it wouldn't be one of those fake "fitness" programs.
Hey, get that logic and common sense out of here. It is clearly out of place.
Agreed on all points man, well said.
@darthv72
"i dont understand....
why now and why there"
They actually have the same claims active against Soney in the US but the patent law is much slower acting here and they won't put up injunctions to block shipments like the Netherlands did.
Everything they are doing sounds like they are really trying to improve the genre. I can't wait to see it at PAX this weekend, and maybe even grab some hands on time with it if I can manage to.
I'll be there this weekend. There is just a ton of stuff I want to see. There isn't anything on the MS list that i would stand in a huge line for (outside of playing Homefront a bit before release maybe). I am not a giant Gears fan so I will check it out but won't wait to play it.
looking at the PDF of the floor layout MS has 3 really big booths.

No Grenade spamming here either. They are on a timer cooldown and also don't do much damage, but cause knockdown. Basically in Brink they are a setup tactic and then you finish people with your gun.
No chuck and pray or grenade spam until you see XP here, which is another great addition to the game imo.
"Why don'they just take out the class altogether?"
They did, there is no sniper class.
Maybe take a second to actually READ THE ARTICLE before posting. You could even read the actual article, not just a website who took a blurb of the full interview and used it to manufacture hits for themselves.

This game is one of the reasons I just built a new gaming PC. If GW2 and Diablo 3 both hit this year I don't know how I am going to manage to fit them both into my gaming time.
I can't wait to get a look at this at PAX next weekend.
Square still published it. They have to know enough not to put these junk games on the market. You can't just blame the developer, a publisher plays a big role in what a game is by the time it gets on the shelf. Most of the stuff with their name on it is only passable now, where a generation ago a game with their logo on it meant it was going to be among the best available on the platform.
Look at some of the recent games they have developed, published, or had their hands...
I have always liked the Angry Joe reviews, good to see he splintered off to his own site rather than being buried at BlisteredThumbs.
Also, I don't understand what has happened to Square, they have just completely gone off the rails in the past few years. It is sad to see because some of my fondest PSOne memories were from their games.
I totally agree Burgertime, SHARK!, and snafu were my top 3 Coleco games back in the day. I will grab this just for the nostalgia and memories.
You do realize that Splash Damage made games with these classes and this style of gameplay before either of those games they are "copying" were even in production right? If anything the Quake mods and Enemy Territory games have been the ones getting elements ripped off for years.
I know it is hard to believe that Killzone 3 didn't invent everything but, it didn't.
There is gameplay in the G4 video that came out today and some other videos if you head over to gametrailers as well.

I also highly recommend watching the dev diaries on the official site.

Definitely. I can't wait for this one, I have been watching it for ages.
Good, I thought Bizarre's closure by Activision was unfair and they were mismanaged by Kotick & Co. as a whole.
I would surely welcome another Geometry Wars title into my game library on the first day it was available. (hint, hint)
I learned my lesson from DA:O. I spent around $80 on that and didn't even get all the DLC they released or the expansion because I was grabbing stuff day 1. In the past month I could have bought DA:O Ultimate Edition, which is the game, all the DLC, and the expansion, all for $20 on sale. By rushing to play a game I could experience the same at any time I cost myself a ton of value.
Why pay $100+ and grab everything instantly when the game is completely single player and...
Many of my favorite games from the time when Black Isle was active had their hands on them. Fallout, Icewind Dale series, and Planescape were theirs entirely but they also were in on the development of the Baldur's Gate series which is still my favorite RPG experience of all time.
I am glad this got posted to some websites. I was there yesterday and they capped the audience like an hour before the panel started there were so many people waiting in line for it. I got to see other stuff and now I still get to watch it.
