May 31 puts it at the end of a staggeringly long line of shooters.
Killzone 3, Bulletstorm, Homefront, Crysis 2, DNF, SOCOM 4, Brink, FEAR 3
Throw in games that are "semi-competition" like Portal 2 and LA Niore and that is a hell of a lot of games fighting for the same dollar as Red Faction.
I liked the first one and thought the MP was underrated for it but I will be tied up with Brink when this one hits. I'll definitely play it...
I love Roguelikes. Back on the Amiga I played a ton of Hack and Rogue. There are some good ones on XBL Indie market as well. Mega Monster Mania and Ultimate Dungeon are two that I can remember the names of and for $1 each they are worth it for someone looking to kill a few hours in a Roguelike.
The title to this "story" is ridiculous, Crysis is the first game worse than its predecessor? Hardly, as recently as Bioshock 2 a great game took a step back in its sequel, don't even get me started on what Square has done downgrading every single FF since PSOne up to the drek that was FFXIII and the unplayable mess of FFIV.
It may be true that the game is taking a step back but this is truly a flamebait/hitseeking article with no true info, just some gameplay c...
I can't wait for this game on May 17. The devs are really putting some good info out there with their dev diaries and these interview articles.
Glad this got posted. It made me head over and update. Thanks.
Yeah, rumors a few months a go said they were shopping for a publisher so they could make a new TS title. Timesplitters was such a fun series back in the day. It is one of the
"dead franchises" that I would love to see come back. Perhaps second only to Killer Instinct, now that Twisted Metal is on the way back.
It depends on the model, some are specific to PS3 or 360 but others work with PC as well. They have a list on their website that shows what models work with what systems. As I said above the X11s I got for $42 work with my PC and my 360. Any amplified headset will have problems in connecting to your Iphone because it draws USB power.
I just snagged a set of TB X11s for $42 shipped off of Amazon last week. I am really impressed with them. The reason I ended up picking that model is the fact that I can use it on my PC and the 360. I highly recommend them, at $40-50 online they are light years ahead of the cheap $20-30 sets at the big box stores.
Groov is awesome as is Impossible game and the extra levels. Throw in ZP2KX (amazing game), Miner Dig Deep, Ulitmate Dungeon, Mega Monster Mania, Explosionade, and just about all the Radiangames catalog and for under $20 for everything listed here you can have tons of quality game time.
All of those games are worth far more than the $1 pricetag on them.
...or at splashdamage.com.
It really is a great read, it shows how much thought is going into every element of this game.
How is including a decades old game mode a prerequisite for setting a standard? If they don't use the crutch of derivative gameplay modes that basically everyone else uses and still create an amazing competitive experience then that is FAR more impressive.
If the only thing that makes you like shooters is TDM then Brink won't be for you, I am sure, as they seem to be pushing as far away from that convention as possible. Thank God.
That was an amazing read. So much about this game has taken a lot of deep thought. I really expect progress in the FPS genre to come from this title.
I agree, they are really pushing into some new ground with aspects of this game. It is the next game I am buying for sure and I have been following it for a year solid.
I just snagged a set of Turtle Beach X11s for $42 shipped. I needed a good gaming headset for my fresh built PC and these will also allow me to upgrade my old stock 360 headset(s) at the same time.
Thanks for posting this, it saved me a few bucks.
A Kinect version of P90X with Tony Horton, Dreya, and Pam the Blam?
I can imagine the Kinect tracking you as you roll around.
"Superman... Banana... Superman... Banana..."
P90X is awesome, I don't see why with this many exercise games around it doesn't deserve its own.
Really it was RROD causing all these sale still? C'mon. Stop with that already. The # of console bans is so minor to the sales numbers it isn't going to be reflected here. The people who got banned were for a reason, and a good portion probably move over to PS3 because of it anyway.
I didn't see anyone complaining or calculating re-buy sales when the PS3 Slim launched and had everyone double dipping on PS3s for a huge sales jump, but now re-buys are "the on...
I know, I wish we had a set release date already. A few retailers recently changed their date to 4/12 so I am hopeful we will see it then.
I am really ready for an FPS game that isn't "more of the same"
I sunk a ton of hours into this on PC so I don't know if I will double dip and get it on 360 too, especially with Torchlight 2 due on PC soon. It will all come down to how it controls on the 360.
Solar on the XBLA indie market is super relaxing too.
I am long since done with WoW but when I was playing and raiding heavily those were among my favorite instances.
