I stopped and took a picture of that sign on a road trip to a concert with some friends. We also drove through (and took pictures in) Lycippus, PA on that trip which we found much more funny considering everything in the town was named after the town. Lycippus Hardware, etc.
add all that to the focus on teamwork and team play and this is definitely my most anticipated shooter. It just sucks that this isn't coming out now and we have months to go until spring.
Gamefly shipped it out to me this morning. It definitely looks better than some of the past Spiderman drek that has hit the market. I have this and HAWX 2 coming so hopefully one of them pans out.
Kameo wasn't bad at all, you just couldn't go in with high expectations. I really wouldn't mind seeing Rare get scrapped altogether now.
I am waiting for the day they release a new KI that completely ruins my memories of that awesome series.
It isn't overly long, I burned through 20 of the 30 levels last night but for $1 I can hardly complain. Really good design and it plays like what you would get if you mixed Gauntlet and Geometry Wars in a blender.
I have been fixated on his game for ages already and with all these previews I just can't wait for it to get here. It looks amazing.

That was the first one that came to mind for me after Umbrella. The Half Life series relies more on that corporation than a Tekken game (with story as an afterthought) does on Heihaci's company.
Yeah, I had considered the new Bockbuster rentals as a cheaper alternative to my having Gamefly and Netflix but if that is how the service is going to work then I'll pass. I have Mafia II on the way to me from Gamefly as I type this. Getting a new rental on release day (or the day after) is something I wouldn't want to give up.
I won't be dumping another $15 on a sequel so soon. There are plenty of full retail options for gaming this fall and winter that I will be focused on. I will definitely grab it down the line at some point, probably when they throw it on sale after a few months.
Wherever they slot the release they are going to have big shooter competition. Last year Borderlands launched right in the middle of ODST and MW2 and did a couple million units still. If the game is quality then a new IP can manage a tough release window.
Another reason/theory for this push could be Bethesda has a ton of big releases they are publishing and want separate windows for each launch. Fallout: NV this fall, Brink next spring, Rage next fall, and Hunted: Demons Fo...
I want to play nearly all of those too, but there are even more. Red Faction: Armageddon, Homefront (under the radar but looks great), and Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 are all high end titles in that window too.
I will probably only buy 3 games in Q1 (Brink, Red Faction, and Dragon Age 2) and gamefly the rest.
It is actually still in alpha, they haven't even pared it down to go to beta testing yet so there is a good amount of time to dial that stuff in.
I am disappointed this isn't coming out this fall but I am fine with the delay as long as they put the time to good use.
I really can't wait for this game. The action, strategy, and customization they describe is making it even harder to wait until Spring 2011.
I think the Claptrap Pack is going to be the last pack. They talked about "one more DLC" when Knoxx hit. I do agree that they won't be pushing a new Borderlands out the door soon. They have the Aliens: Colonial Marines game still going, A new Brothers in Arms in the works, and supposedly have picked up Duke Nukem Forever to get that to finally see the light of day. A fourth shooter in development at the same time would be pretty nuts.

Neither of those things directly means the respective console will be better on either console. I am just happy that when they expanded their studio they went around and cherry-picked some major talent in the industry.
The game already looks great, a half year for launch. Next spring is going to be a bad season for my wallet with all the huge games hitting then.
I agree the character creator is awesome. There is a skill you can select as you level up that lets you go into a third person view when you are interacting with an object. That means if it takes you 5 seconds to plant a bomb on a door or when you are interacting with a command station it will flip to a 3PS camera and let you look around so you aren't completely blind and waiting to be killed while doing it.
