They already have actual gameplay videos out, you can download them on gametrailers, XBL, or PSN. I don't see why a game this late in development would not come out.
There are. It is always 16 player, 8 vs 8.
You can play solo with 7 AI against 8 bots. You can invite friends onto your side to play against bots, or you can open the whole game up and have 8 on 8 humans, all in the same campaign/level structure.
Apparently it is news for people who can't follow on screen directions?
apparently someone disagrees with your actual experience for some reason... got to love that.
I don't agree with any of your three comments but only have one reply left so Ill answer them all here.
1 - the game does have a following, not all games need a following of millions to warrant a second installment. Besides that existing fanbase isn't the only reason to make a sequel for a game, especially if the company thinks they can improve on it and make the IP profitable.
2 - Eternal Darkness, MGS: Twin Snakes, and Blood Omen were all quality g...
well said. Reviews are just the opinions of one person playing a game anyway. Sometimes that person isn't even playing the game enough to make a solid evaluation due to time limitations. They aren't carved in stone facts about a game, everyone has their own preferences and biases, and those will turn up in reviews and score. Reviewers aren't immune to those pitfalls.
This is no different than movies. Just because "Ebert and whoever" gave something tw...
that is a sequel with an engine in place. New IPs normally take longer to create than sequels with existing art, engine, characters, and story arc.
Too late, it is gone now.
Walmart jumping heavily into the videogame marketplace can only be good for gamers.
More competition in the marketplace = more deals = better for my wallet.
The main problem the game had is that it never stood a chance of living up to the pre-release hype and the expectation of how good it was going to be "after 10 years in production".
When it came out people expected way too much and when it didn't wow them in the first hour or two they hated it. The control and systems were deep, they just needed time to learn. That is also not helped by the fact that there is little to no tutorial or good info in the game itse...
I just checked it and they are back up to the $59.99 retail price. This game had a ton of deals around it. I am sure there will be more soon.
I agree with a lot of the points he makes. I definitely enjoyed my time with the game but it didn't stand a chance in living up with its development history and pre-launch hype and drama.
I still think it is worth if for people to pull out of the bargain bin and try though. They may be pleasantly surprised, you just have to give the game long enough to get used to the different combat controls and make sure you zoom the camera controls all the way out.
That and Killer Instinct 3 would be amazing. One redone classic for each console.
Half Life 3 wouldn't hurt either, or at least HL2: Episode 3. That cliffhanger is still killing me.
very good advice. sometimes companies only respond when they have to so getting the BBB involved can help. That is what they are there for.
There are plenty of options for people who refuse to give Gamestop business. Target, Walmart, and Toys-R-Us are have all been very reliable with their game release times and stock for me. Amazon and Buy.com are also great alternatives. My friends and I have bought from all of them in the past couple years with no problems, since we swore off GS due to shady stuff like the article describes. Bestbuy sometimes has issues with release times and also with providing the preorder bonuses, from...
@ Marius Elijah. Same for me, shipped on the 17 but is coming Pony Express level shipping from the opposite side of the country. I will be paying the extra few dollars for the release day shipping next time I preorder. Cost-wise it wouldn't be much difference than the tax if I bought it at a brick and mortar store anyway.
Lesson learned for me. It is worth the couple days wait for the $20 gift card that I will spin into a Brink preorder later this year.
How is this vote supposed to make any sense on release day? It will just be voted by hype and expectation, not off of actual game experiences. It might have made sense in a week, but not on launch day.
Maybe that is because you were playing the rarely seen PS4 version? :D
I get the point you are making but any chance to bring some levity into a ridiculous finger-pointing fanboy battle is always nice.
If articles like this didn't come out and people stopped dissecting every facet of every game and measuring them system vs system I think a lot more people would just enjoy the games for what they are.
A review is one person's opinion on the game. Why should they try to agree with anyone else if it isn't their opinion? The day all game reviewers turn into sheep and start bleating out the same numbers will be the official death of game reviewing as far as I am concerned. A review is just a number from a stranger that you really know nothing about other than a website or magazine hired them.
I rely much more on video reviews and the sum of many written ones as a who...
Some big Steam announcement, a new Source engine, HL2:E3 and/or HL3, Team Fortress 3, Counterstrike 2, or a new IP altogether. The only thing I couldn't see it being is L4D3 when they just put in the Mutatiton mode and first DLC not that long ago and still have L4D DLC in the pipe.
I would love to see Half Life wrapped up, I am also still waiting for all the TF2 updates to make it to 360 so that would be a welcome announcement as well but isn't major enough to warran...
