The games I can't wait for next year are...
Mass Effect 3 - dying to see the finale of the trilogy.
Brink - really looking forward to some FPS co-op goodness.
Guild Wars 2 - if it comes out, should in innovate the MMO genre.
Diablo 3 - probably not going to happen but a guy can wish.
Another really fun indie game. Well worth the $1 I paid for it, I have played it probably a dozen hours already. That is some great gaming value.
really fun little indie game. If you are a fan of Rogue-likes then this one is a no-brainer for $1.
I disagreed and told you why, I didn't bubble you down or anything. It is a comment section, that is what happens. Discussion, debate, etc. I don't see the big issue. God forbid someone not agree with an uninformed "feeling".
You admitted yourself in your reply to me that you didn't know about the game's release. Now you do and you can see why I would question your "feeling". Having an opinion doesn't mean noone gets to disagree with...
Doubtful. Why do you "have a feeling" like that? Seems pretty random. The game already has a release window for the fall and they have previews set for February.
I am setting my sights higher than that. I hope they lean the RPG direction and have a good/evil choice system where you create and customize your own mutant, that would be awesome. Think Mass Effect with X-Men canon, that would be my highest hope for this game.
Loving this game. I always like old school Roguelikes, they remind me of my Amiga days.
Yeah, the openings are for UI design (which could be polish and tweaking before release),level art and design (map packs?/DLC?), and online services (network maintenance for MP). Those listings could all be explained as the reasons I listed after them. I don't see this getting delayed again, not after they pushed it to Sept 2010 originally, then gave it another big delay for "balancing and polish" to get to the Spring 2011 window we have now.
Hardly surprising. If someone sets out to make a game like that it is exactly what they are looking for. Free publicity and to make a name for themselves for making a game that offends all reasonable sensibilities.
It isn't that limited, you forgot brown and dark brown!
I am definitely happy to see some color on the screen again when it does appear. Brink definitely delivers on that.
There are a truckload of other shooters next year besides those. Gears 3, Duke Nukem Forever, Homefront, Crysis 2, Red Faction Armageddon, Gun Loco (meh), XCOM, and FEAR 3.
That is just an insane amount of shooters in a calendar year. They may not all be top notch but that is a lot of options.
It is always nice to see a positive story about gaming to try to counteract the ridiculous "video games make people murder" stories. This one is a true feel good story. Regardless of how anyone feels about the 360 or Kinect they should be able to feel good for a father who finally gets a chance to interact with his son in a way he always wished he could.
Great piece.
Yeah, I was watching closely way back when it got delayed to fall, and now this spring delay too. For a game with this many skills, body sizes and based heavily on team play I am fine with 6 months of bonus polishing and balancing. It could easily be crippled by being imbalanced on release and I would hate to see that.
I blame the New Vegas issues way more on Obsidian than Bethesda. NWN2 and Alpha Protocol both had big bugs on launch too. Obsidian always releases their ga...
I have been fixated on this game for quite a while. I just can't wait for it to come out.
In the original article that the guy posted about himself he called himself a moron. They just carried over his title and wording to their story. It isn't like they added it to trash the guy. Follow the clickthru in the posted article to see it.
Still crazy, I can't imagine that many people will manage to do that to their TV.
The Baldur's Gate games are among the best RPGs ever created. For the price you can find them on sites like GoodOldGames they shouldn't be missed.
"how many are they going to give away at Bk"
just under 2700 are being given away by BK if you look at the fine print for that promotion. Those wouldn't fall under "sales expectations" anyway.
This game is shaping up to have some really good team play and so substantial depth. Something away from the norm is always nice.
The cards are comparable and the prices are as well. Once the 6850 gets some rebates and newegg combos I will probably grab one of those but you can't really go wrong in the $150-200 GPU market right now. On a budget build having the option to Crossfire on newer boards (and having to use older generation boards to SLI) is the main reason I will be going AMD this time. Better upgrade path in my budget range for comparable price and performance.
I had a ton of fun dungeon crawling on my PC with this and will be happy to double dip on it to play it on my 360 with the large screen from my couch. Then Runic can use that money to make Torchlight 2 better for me to play on PC later this year.
