The aren't dominating like they did with the Wii (in fact, they aren't dominating the PS4 at all, as it still outsells it WW), but they are in far better shape than they were with the Wii U and that's a wonderful thing for another company that actually cares about putting out exclusive games and original experiences).

Doesn't change the notion that $500 is steep for a console, no matter what it's in the box.

@ TheRandomOne - The difference is the Pro will have 1st Party companies actually taking advantage of it (as evidenced by The Last Of Us Part II). We may never see anything like that for the Xbox One X. So while I agree that mid-gen consoles weren't necessary, now that they're here, it's pointless to talk about coulda/shoulda/woulda.

It's not that it isn't needed, but it may not be utilized. This is what many of us PC gamers are used to - knowing that our hardware will never truly be realized, yet, it's still a joy to be able to buy something so powerful.

In essence, the biggest hurdle for the Xbox One X isn't its power, but the company that created it. They needed to push in-house software on it. Not simply a bump in resolution, but truly taking advantage of the specifications of the pl...

Bingo. This is what sets the Pro apart, overall. Of course the Xbox One X is a "better-speced" machine, but without games that will truly harness it, it's no different than a beefed up PC (games rarely harness these, either).

Guys, read the article! He means X1X vs X1S. The difference IS staggering. Generation ahead? Maybe/maybe not, but the difference between those two consoles is very noticeable.

He didn't mention any other consoles/platforms, so take a breather. ;P

Ya haven't even played it, yet. "Could have been so much more". Play it first.

OT: 2nd most anticipated game, for certain! Going on a black out soon, so no more surprises are spoiled!

Horizon 3. Without question! FAR more exciting and fun, and to me, looks better!

Uh, reality is that Sony is profiting on their hardware and you tried to deflect with totally irrelevant nonsense.

Name the things the competition has that PlayStation is "behind on". We know it isn't games, so at best, you must be talking about the X1X's power. That matters far less, to everyone, than a platform continuing to rake in profits for its company.

I suggest a Business Management class when you have the chance.

A sequel to a poorly received game and stats from the UK only (Uncharted - which wasn't underwhelming at all, at that). There comes a time when people should stop posting. For you, that's now.

PlayStation isn't their most profitable Division, though (check all financials within the past three years). PlayStation has helped with this massive increase, yes, but isn't their biggest money maker.

Regardless, even IF PlayStation was the sole reason behind their current fortunes, that's nothing anyone can scoff at. In fact, gamers should celebrate it. As long as a company like them, and Nintendo, remain in existence, we'll continue to see original ideas,...

Since neither of you seemed to have read my source above, it's time to do research. Kaz didn't step in because "they were on the path to bankruptcy". He stepped in to help right the ship (and he did). Indeed, some cuts were made, fat trimmed, things released (Nintendo and Microsoft have done the same over the last 5 years). But Sony, as a unit, had never made it to near bankrupt levels (THIS is well documented).

I agree that they were in dire need of aid,...

They were close to bankruptcy? Not quite.

All that existed was what Macroaxis said (in percentages). They predicted, about 3.5 years ago, that Sony had a 79% chance of bankruptcy. HOWEVER, they also state, very plainly on their site that:

"Probability of Bankruptcy SHOULD NOT be confused with actual chance of a company to file for chapter 7, 11, 12 or 13 bankruptcy protection. Macroaxis simply defines Financial Distress as an operational condition wh...

Yeah that was just people totally not in the know with this stuff. Truth is - they were never close to bankruptcy, though they did have improvements to make!

But these days, profit is all they know! ;)

Yeah, never mind the facial animation, 15 hours is a whole other game to play! So this is fantastic!

3151d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Nah, I'd just imagine it on a PC, but I don't have to imagine PLAYING it, since I already have the device that will. :)

OT: Best looking game period. I have a PC that is many times more expensive than the Pro, and what they showed, literally, was mind-blowing

You usually miss the obvious.

:P

OT: Definitely dominated the show! And what's great? The talk isn't about "hardware power", rather, games that are being powered by the "weaker" PS4 Pro (and look mighty fine at that)! This is one of many reasons to stick with PlayStation.

I'd say it's the opposite, that YOU'LL be the one out of the loop. :P

OT: Mighty impressive console sales there!
