So, they should talk only about the hardware, but not about, well, you know, the things you'll be using it for?

There are plenty of exclusives on PC. Why would anyone cry about it? PC isn't try to make the dent in the market that the Xbox is.

In fact, your point about PC has no relevance to this discussion at all.

The network talk always make me laugh. Faster network than PSN? Last time I checked, games download the same on both platforms, with X1 game installs being PAINFULLY slow (certainly slower than PS4's installations), while the XI's UI is also slower than the PS4's.

But, if we're talking about playing multiplatform games best and faster networks, it's a wonder I never hear you talk about PC, which wipes the floor with any console, in that regard.

And that's where they'll continue to falter. The Pro will have so much more advantage taken of it, that all of these other games (existing ones with 4K updates) will still struggle to compete, visually, with stuff like The Last Of Us Part II, Detroit, and Spider-Man.

Thus, it will remain a system for bragging rights and little else.

As an owner of a powerful gaming PC, there are many, MANY things you can do with it. Much more than any console.

Regarding the Xbox One X, it does serve a purpose, to be the best multiplatform console you can buy. That's great for many, but not for others. Myself included. I'd like to see some specific software developed for it and it only. I'm sure it could create some of the best looking stuff ever produced, it just needs to happen to make a REAL statement.

"Technical specs mean jack shit"

If that were the case, we'd hardly ever hear about the Xbox One .

Next, people were running games like DOOM in 4K @ 60fps on a 1080, but because I know you're not gaming on PC, and don't access the Steam community, you are, once more, pulling things from nowhere. And running one oe two games at 4K/30fps with "Ultra Textures for Gears of War 4" isn't the equivalent of what the 1080 does (...

Never take his comments with any real seriousness. He either doesn't know what he's talking about or just says things to get a reaction. Just for future reference.

OT: I don't see this as anything game changing. Rather, a way for Microsoft's console to gain buzz again. So far, it sounds like things are going good, but longevity will be key.

Except.....that it doesn't. I get that you drank the GameSpot cool-aid, but that doesn't change the fact that no other source has made such a claim. Beyond that, even with that source, they said you can't play the game @ 60fps on Xbox One X with that visual clarity. That only a High End PC would be able to pull it off.

But, why bother? You've convinced yourself of things aren't true already. So this will just go over your head, as well. Hint: The Xbox On...

You didn't read it, did you. I'll help you out:

"The difference between the PS4 Pro and Xbox One is already big enough, but if we go with the Xbox One comparison, it is like a generation difference for users."

Generation ahead of the Xbox One, not the Pro.

Most rational people (and people that actually understand this tech stuff), knew the Xbox One X would also be using Checkerboard Rendering in a lot of games. Issue is the PR that many Xbox fans chose to listen to, not realizing how difficult 4K, with all the bells and whistles, really is. Unless you're using, at least, a GTX 1080, then no console is going to be without compromises in most games claiming to hit 4K.

One of the reasons that the Pro wasn't ever advertis...

That's the way it's going to remain for most games in 4K, too. The One X will hit 4K in more games than the Pro, but for the Premiere 4K experience, a PC, closer to the power of mine (for example), is what you'll need.

@andibandit: Getting a share of the market is fine, but irrelevant to the point. It didn't make the headway needed to prove that power would make any significant difference. The Xbox One X is in the exact same situation, only with fewer exclusives than the original Xbox.

@ Tank: I assume you've never really taken advantage of ReShade/Sweetfx

3021d ago 2 agree4 disagreeView comment

Yeah, you're clueless on this topic, bud. Go actually compare the inner workings of a GTX 1080, and the game(s) it powers, and then return to this discussion.

The Xbox One X is, power wise, between a 1060 and 1070. Mid-ranged graphics cards. Certainly NOT a bad thing, but let's court some of the exaggerations.

Console hardware was decidedly a win for Microsoft when they went head-to-head with the PS2. How did that work out? The sooner many of you fanatics realize that power isn't everything to a console, the less ridiculous some of these replies will sound.

3021d ago 9 agree1 disagreeView comment

Yeah, pretty silly, if you ask me. Then again, SweetFx/ReShade offer their own variations that still get the job done on PC.

3021d ago 4 agree4 disagreeView comment

Eh, you're either new to gaming or young. Sega and Nintendo fans were FAR worse.

Exactly. Otherwise, they'll look like hypocrites or people paid off.

3021d ago 3 agree3 disagreeView comment

Right, as they did with the PS4 and Xbox One for so long. Sega Genesis vs SNES days, that didn't happen.

For many people, just because it's something special (mostly something powerful), doesn't mean they should rush out and drop $500 on it. It is a system for the core base, no doubt, but don't expect the casual market to lap it up. No matter how top-of-the-line it is.

OT: While they're still easily available for purchase, from my anecdotal experience, it's doing pretty good. Without numbers, however, this is mostly fluff. Perhaps Microsoft will share somet...
