From my little experience with Game Design, currently, I agree.
It's sad when you consider a company releasing less games, but stronger hardware, a "success", while the company with a moderately weaker console, but FAR better support, made "mistakes". There's a word for people like that, but because I honestly feel bad for you, I'll spare the embarrassment.
Surprise hit? Not quite. Many knew it would be successful and all of its early previews were overwhemingly positive.
That said, I expect Days Gone to also be a hit because the team involved and everything I've seen so far looks well done.
I won't be "relegated" to anything, because unlike you, I don't cozy myself to one brand/device. I get to enjoy superior exclusive titles on PS4, superior multiplats (as PC will always win there), and then some Xbox multiplayer time with friends.
Maybe. Maybe not. The other side of the coin? Read beyond a headline.
Agreed.
Did you even read the article?
"we care about games pure and simple"
Yeah, so does the author, if you actually read it.
If the PS4 Pro isn't in the same ballpark, then that should apply to the Xbox One vs the PS4 (or the Xbox One X versus most powerful PCs). Since that's absolute nonsense, know one should even give that idea a consideration.
For those who didn't even read the article, he's not saying PS4 owners SHOULD be worried. He's saying there's NOTHING to worry about.
Thank you.
Sure, if multiplatform devs provide anything better looking than The Last Of Us Part II. Until then, you are relegated to Native 4K/Checkboard 4K multiplatform games.
I guess you're Xbox One X versions are watered down compared to my uncompromised PC versions, right? Yeah sounds absolutely ridiculous and the fact that you posted this with any sort of seriousness is scarier than the idea that the Xbox One X hasn't provided you with anything but prettier Pro multiplats. On top of that, the day the Xbox One X gives me anything close to the visual caliber off The Last Of Us Part II is when I'll finally see what its true potential is.
You can continue to toot the multiplatform horn all you want. That doesn't change the idea that the One X is merely a beefier Pro without any exclusive software to really show people what it's capable of. No doubt - a solid machine, but it isn't anything outside of a well crafted multiplatform box.
OT: Looks like it's off to a solid start. Can it be sustained, however? That'll be what I'll be keeping an eye on from now until Summer.
@ Surgical: Excellent post!
The irony of your last few sentences of "belittling" and such is that you were the one, in this transaction, that belittled people. At no point did I insult you or your preference.
Seems you are quite confused on things.
"Has everyone forgotten that MS had way more better exclusives than Sony did for the first 18 months of this Gen"
They did? Name the exclusive games from November 2013 through May 2015 for both systems.
I guess we can agree to disagree. I don't see Xbox One X changing anything. It's a powerful iterative console that mainly exists to welcome more readily available 4K content (much like the Pro). Great piece of kit, but nothing game changin'.
Really, once you use generic terms like "Sony pony", I shouldn't even waste my time trying to have any further discussion with you, but because it's so easy to pick apart your argument that remains on Life Support, I'll bite...
For starters, considering I own a Gaming PC, the Pro, and X1X, I have access to all of the possibilities and certainly don't have anything to be jealous of. At the same time, all concerns I've raised, as well as the ones...
No.....it isn't. He even goes as far as to say it's not a big leap from the Xbox One (though in this case, I'd disagree). Still, there's nothing "game changing" about it. It's basically a more powerful PS4 Pro WITHOUT Sony's exclusive games.
Great if you're already on board the Xbox ecosystem, with plenty of beautiful multiplatform games to play in 4K (if you don't have a moderately powerful PC), but hardly the necessary kit to make...
Um: https://www.roadtovr.com/xb...
VR is far from dead. Research is your friend.
OT: Sony has worldwide on lock, while the Switch will take Japan.
