To me, the top of the game should also include top of the line "games" to go along with your system (games that can only be found on said system). When i saw The Last Of Us Part II, for example, I knew what system was on top, despite what the specs say.
The Xbox One X will remain a great multiplatform machine, but for many PC users like myself, that's all it will ever be. I'd like to see what they could with it if it were to have a game built surrounded it...
Of course not. They're just coming to PSX to tell the world that their name is Medial Molecule >_>
/s
OT: Can't wait! Probably get a Summer-Fall 2018 release date!
Nah, between $750 & $800 at most. Still, doesn't negate that the machine is incredible!
Since you don't own a PS4, you have nothing to worry about. :)
OT: I'm probably not the person they'd want to reply, as I have both the Pro and X, in addition to, a "beast"ly PC. So, really, I just try to keep up with mostly everyone.
Well, yeah, the PS3 is also 11-years-old. If you really think the base PS4 and X1 will be supported longer than that, you're in for a rude awakening. The Pro and X will get the shifted support after the next gen machines launch.
I agree. I'd prefer a new machine very 5-6 years. Yes, I bought both the Pro and X, but that's because I wanted to have the best versions of current gen systems. Next gen, I'd prefer it remain with we get at launch.
You should get plenty of downvotes because you can be excited for the X without putting other things down.
Just got back from picking mine up! Heavy little sucker, by quite a sleek form factor!
"May happen"? Yeah, right. It WILL happen. As soon as Sony burst on the scene with a much more attractive PS5 to their Xbox One X, they'll be in motion with Gen 9. Count on it!
It's a guaranteed success because its name is The Last Of Us. All else is icing!
I know they'll backtrack now, but many Xbox supporters ran with that narrative until Phil changed his tune on Checkerboard Rendering. Now, the narrative is: "well, 1800p is more pixels than the Pro's 1260p". Well, "No Duh, Sherlock", it's got 4GB more RAM and a stronger GPU.
They then run when PC is brought up. Rinse and Repeat.
If that's the case, so should Microsoft, since they will also have fluctuating resolutions. But, because we know that's absolute nonsense, thankfully, nobody should take that, nor you, seriously.
OT: As expected, The evil Within 2 is quite a demanding game fro consoles. That's what I take away from this. Never mind the "TRUE 4K" stuff (which was never going to be the case for either home console).
It actually works much nicer than this article tries to let on. It's okay if lost interest, but I wouldn't let this one source deter you from the buy. Especially since the game is $19.99.
:P Oh you!
Truth is, because it is an iterative console, I don't think it, on its own, requires exclusives. The Xbox as a brand, however, is lacking in this regard.
Disagrees must come from people who don't game on PC. SweetFX/ReShade are game changers. Never mind that this game will never see anything over 60fps on X1X, while on PC, that's par for course.
No. It won't. And thank you ProjectVulcan for providing those links, as I was headed to shut him down with similar ones before I saw your reply.
They have been since it was unveiled. Journalists and many Xbox supporters alike. Nothing wrong with excitement, so I'm not hitting against that, but when many discussions about this thing surround the hyperbolic nature of its marketing ("TRUE 4K", "Closed the gap with PC", "4K era arrives with the Xbox One X"), then they've opened the floodgates to extended criticism.
@ImGumbyDammit: There are quite a bit of PCs out there that have, and can play, games in 4K. So you're actually wrong about that.
Regardless, no matter what spin is applied, the era of 4K didn't arrive with the Xbox One X.
It should, after all. The original system it released on came out in 2005 and it's only been upscaled on the One S. Still, the best place to play Oblivion remains PC, but I'm curious just to see how much better it got on the X. So I'll dust off that 360 copy and check it out on Tuesday.
No.
