I play videogames as my primary source of entertainment, I would estimate maybe 3 hours a night.

My wife and I are at work work all day, after our evening meal and a catchup on each other's day we tend to relax in our own way, she likes her soap operas, I like my videogames. The kids are both grown up (19 & 22) so I get plenty of time to game.

Nevertheless, I still have a ridiculous backlog and much like the author of this article, still cannot h...

I agree with everything you said chief, pretty much as close to a perfect game as I have seen. Easily my most satisfying Platinum to earn, I couldnt put the game down.

Cannot recommend this game enough, what a great game.

I have no idea how they managed to mix such a bonkers story, incredibly sensitive/delicate subject matter and OTT action into one game, it shouldn't be possible but you have to give it to the devs, the pulled off an impossible feat.

Great news indeed however, as someone who deals with a huge European organisation on a daily basis, I can tell you from experience that getting a consensus amongst all member states to enshrine something in law will take decades, particularly where governments like the UK have a different opinion on the matter at hand.

@chiefJohn117
There is no need to be rude chief, if you want a slanging match I am pretty sure I could hold my own, but what is the point in that?

So, you are asserting that I am 'full of it' because I watched an E3 event where a boat load of titles were promised and as a result, I was influenced into purchasing my XB1.

I would be interested to know what influenced you into buying your console of choice, if you are suggesting that it was ...

Actually, even as someone who doesn't like MS, I still bought an XB1 three years ago. Do you know what convinced me to buy a console I had no previous interest in, Microsoft's promise of a shit load of exclusive games at E3 2015.

No matter how you slice it, exclusives do matter, they matter a great deal and you throwing down this kind of smokescreen of accusations against Sony to deflect any scrutiny of MS's statements makes you appear like the "shockingl...

Sorry pal, you don't know a thing about me or my personal feeling towards any organisation for that matter.

By all means, raise a valid complaint against Sony and I will be happy to discuss it, I am a Sony fan, yes, but I am not so blinkered as to ignore poor choices or decisions they have made.

With regard to the point at hand, we can and should analyse a companies track record, how else are we supposed to judge them. They have made statements to th...

More utter bullshit from Spencer.

The issue he and his apologists need to address is why development of new titles dried up in the first place. The last 3 years I owned my 360 the exclusives were practically non existent and this carried on into this generation.

Cutting investment in exclusives is not a trend that was started this generation, they have been doing it for 7 years and they have no answer other than "we are starting now", the same ...

Agreed. While I am sure Xenoblade is going to be a quality title you cannot trust Famitsu reviews.

Incredible to think that Bullfrog are gone, I grew up playing their amazing games on my Amiga as a teenager. Populous 1 & 2, Syndicate and Powermonger were amongst my fave games on Amiga.

I also felt sorry when Pandemic went down, I loved their games they were just good old fashioned fun. I was wrapping up The Saboteur when the news broke and it was a real shame as that game was very underrated.

As usual, a complete lack of perspective from WhatCulture. The idea that the user ratings on Metacritic are a true reflection of gamers feelings on a given game is laughable. Those ratings are bombarded by so many idiots, marking games high or low for the most ridiculous of reasons, how anyone could see them as a fair reflection of the opinion of the community at large is beyond me.

I have played every entry to completion, while there have been highs and lows, overall I have loved the series. Even though AC3 and Unity took a mauling in the reviews I loved them too.

I think they appeal too me so much due to my love of history as well as video games.

@Messiah

Agreed, they can boast that the 3rd party titles look a little better on their premium console, nobody with any sense can argue against that point.

You are grossly underestimating the amount of exclusives though, there might only be 4 or 5 'mainstream' exclusives a year, but in totality, there are now 4 or 5 a month once you factor in the more niche titles from Japan and the Indies on top of that, it matters, no matter how you dress it u...

@professorK

You add nothing to any discussion other than pathetic comments to suggest than anyone who doesn't agree with your bias is somehow jealous. You sound utterly ridiculous, how about you attempt to proffer a reasoned counter argument to points raised above about all of the promises Microsoft have made to me that have never materialised?

Agreed. The games on SWITCH clearly demonstrate where the importance of graphical fidelity lies compared to other factors such as great exclusives or fantastic gameplay.

The fact that Sonys console enjoys a constant stream of exclusives that look incredible on top of the 3rd party stuff that, while not looking as good as Xbox1X, still look fantastic, puts Sony in such a strong position.

Over the next year games websites will be reviewing exciting new tit...

Not jealous, just someone who is not buying into MS's bullshit any longer.

It's a public forum and there are legit reasons to dislike MS's treatment of the consumer. Not everything is about pathetic fanboys.

Summed up exactly how I feel squire. I gave MS one last chance three E3's ago and was duped into buying my XB1, I was promised an increase in performance through cloud implementation, Hololense and a raft of incredible exclusives, I trusted them and bought an Xbox.

Not 6 months later they announced all games were going to PC too, a platform I already owned. 3 years down the line they have nothing exciting to tell me about as an existing Xbox owner, no increase in perf...

I choose to support game retailers rather than Supermarkets or Amazon, but will never use Game as they are a complete ripoff. For me Shopto and SimplyGames offer an unbeatable service as online retailers, fair prices, good sales, free next day delivery and usually I receive the game a day early too.

Personally, I really dislike how Game prey on the industry they should be supporting with their very shady used game practices too.....I would hate for people to lose their job...

I played enhanced versions of new releases like Gravity Rush 2, NIOH, Nier, Horizon, Wipeout, Crash Bandicoot, Persona 5, Uncharted Lost Legacy, Yakuza, Last Guardian and a bunch of Indies like Parrapa, Journey, LocoRoco, Patapon etc within the first 6-8 months of the Pro releasing.

Then I went back and played patched versions of titles like Uncharted 4, Ratchet and Clank, Infamous, The Last of Us and Kilkzone. This is on top of all the multiplatform titles that were enhan...
