Once the core Xbox fans have upgraded their console I don't see it doing much to expand MS's market share at all, it wasn't the lack of power that has damaged the Xbox brand, it was the lack of new exclusive games. They did nothing for the last 3 years on 360 and have carried on with that trend into this generation.
For me, even if the X was priced at the same as the Switch, I would choose the Switch, it has exclusives I am desperate to play.
I would dearly love for Ori and Cuphead to reach PlayStation, I guess Gears of War 4 at a push too, but that is it. MS just don't want to support and help to grow the industry by investing in new titles.

Exactly, I am currently playing through my Wii and WiiU backlog. Even with those much reduced resolutions, the gameplay and sheer fun Nintendo pack into their games is unrivalled in my opinion. Replaying Zelda: Wind WakerHD and Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 recently has been an utterly incredible experience.

Ultimately, if it fails to sell well it will be on the publishers, they decided on this suicidal release date. The devs upheld there end of the deal, the made a fantastic title that has receive critical acclaim.

I agree to an extent but for the most part, I think MS would not want another disaster like that on their hands and I am sure they learned a lot of lessons with RRoD.
It wasn't being weaker than PS4 that was stifling the success of the XB1, it was how MS stopped making games for the last 3 years of last gen and how they continued that trend, even more so, since XB1 launched.
