Don't care for the game in the slightest but damn, those joycon's look awesome in the picture.
WiiU is a massively under appreciated console. Even if you use it like I do, just to play the exclusives, the catalogue is fantastic.
I use mine to play Wii games I missed too as I didn't own a Wii so my WiiU library is actually really impressive.
The quality of that list has made me bookmark their site, awesome list of games.
NIOH is my favourite game this year with Nier, Horizon, Mario and Gravity Rush 2 rounding out my top 5.
Gotta love the box art on the physical version. What a flipping great game.
Snagged my physical copy on release, just as I did with the second game in the series.....criminal how overlooked this series of games are, I have barely heard GR2 mentioned in game of the year conversations this year. What a shame 😣
It was the demo that drew me to pre order the title, you are missing out!
@Zacfoldor
Three great games, I could understand anyone picking any of those 3 as their GotY.
Best list I have seen yet chief, pretty much the same choices as me. I tried hard again to get into Yakuza with Yakuza 0 but I just bounce off it time and again, I thinks it's a series I will just have to admire from afar.
I would switch out Yakuza for Gravity Rush 2 but otherwise, I am completely on board with your list.....what an awesome year for games.
Fabulous list squire, I avoided Mass Effect due to all the negativity, perhaps I need to give it a chance.
Heck of a great list of games buddy. Nioh is my personal pick this year, despite 2 play throughs I am still itching to play it again, what an incredible game such a shame it is so overlooked. Nier is special too, in fact I dropped Zelda to play Nier for a second time, not that I don't like Zelda, but it just hasn't grabbed me personally in the same way.
Congrats on the best list I have seen in the comments section squire, here's to an awesome 2018! 😁 ...
@Babadook
I am not sure what point you are making chief, I know how massively popular Zelda was this year and I acknowledge it is a well crafted game, it just hasn't grabbed me as I had hoped. I was super excited to play it, it was one of the reasons I bought my Switch after all.
My point is, you cannot state ones own opinion as fact, which is what the clown who wrote this article is trying to do. My game of the year is NIOH, a game that barely registered as ...
Agreed, I think the real issue surrounds the way these kinds of websites draught their articles in such a way as to suggest their opinion is fact, that is why there are never honest, respectful conversations about favourite games, it always degenerates into a slanging match.
My personal choice for game of the year is a toss up between NIOH or Horizon, I found both games to be utterly engrossing. Mario was also amazing fun but I am really struggling with Zelda, I am around ...
Spot on squire, I think in order to give a noticeable leap over Xb1X we will need to see a generational jump in chip architecture. Ultimately, it will be a case of waiting for the right chip to hit the right price before we see the next gen consoles.
I am personally in no huge rush, the games I have been playing on the Pro and Switch have been incredible and the upcoming year looks even better again. I like pretty games as much as the next guy but I honestly feel like gam...
For me, I think the XB1X sales are largely irrelevant anyway, I would suggest that it was predominantly bought by existing XBox gamers and as a result that all important market share has not changed in the slightest, in fact, Sony have probably increased their market share over the last 3 months.
On a side note, who the he'll takes Pachter seriously, he is wrong far more than he is right!
People are too quick to discount the long tail on PlayStation consoles in places like South America, Asia and Africa. While they do most of their business in the US, Europe and Japan initially, they continue to sell in developing regions for years after the release of the next gen consoles.
People keep saying PS4 has no chance of catching PS2 however, at this pace for a few more years and then it's continued success in other regions, I don't think it's as impos...
They need new stuff, for the most part the only franchises worthy of sequels on XBox have already been milked to death.
I can honestly only think of one exclusive series that I loved back in the day that I would buy without hesitation, Project Gotham Racing.
Love the visuals in this game, looks beautiful!
I am not much of a multiplayer gamer so I am not interested in the game per se, but it looks like it will be great for gamers who like multiplayer.
The Last of Us Part 2 is ‘a broken mess’ at different stages, says Naughty Dog........but goes on to say that it didn't stop PUBG from coming out on console! 😄😄😄
I am joking before anyone kicks off!
I guess you haven't looked at my previous comments.......I am afraid I am one of those PS4 fans you dislike so much 😢
Wobbly, you must be the most delusional commenter I have seen in a good while. Do you know how much investment goes into each consoles development, let alone marketing and logistics etc.
Then factor in the tech side of things, to get the kind of generational leap needed to justify a new console takes ever more capable technology and that costs a lot of money. This tech becoming affordable will dictate when new consoles will arrive, not a knee-jerk reaction to a competito...
