Gotta love Notorious Man (inFamous)as well. :) Ganbare Sony Konpyutaentateinmento!
Edit: @2.0--sorry I didn't see you'd already enjoyed the inFamous translation. Oh well, there's enough joy to go around.
Totally, you could wait. No argument here. Just don't be upset if it doesn't come to the US. You've got access to it anytime. :)
As I posted above, I got the theme and I live in the States. Making a European account isn't a huge deal.
Update: Downloaded the Wipeout Theme. It's pretty cool--the ship is in some kind of wind tunnel and is subjected to several tests--but I still have to give the award to the zebras in the Afrika theme.
Ugh. People griped that the PS3 had TOO MANY features when it launched, blaming the price point on a glut of goodies. So they took away the least used features, cut the price in half, and now people are griping again.
Ha ha, now I'll have to create a Euro account as well. Made a Japanese account for the Afrika theme, and I love Wipeout HD. At least this time I can make the account in English. :)
Wow, do people really hate this game so much? The first RE came out when I was in college, and I thought THAT was boring. RE5 is great, if mindless, fun.
On topic, the new colors make it look like a clown game. The original atmosphere, including color, really helped the game's presentation imo.
Their comments also don't take into account the publicity and advertising advantages of getting out one of the first animated themes. Several friends have already asked about the Afrika game since they've seen my FREE theme from the Japanese PSN.
Bottom line: Publishers need to quit complaining about this ASAP. If they really thought a 3D theme would be a financial disadvantage, they wouldn't have done it.
@ everyone freaking out:
In Japan FF games ALWAYS launch between 8000-9000 yen, or around $90 depending on the current exchange rate. This is not shocking, or even really news. This is normal. The game will still be $60 when it lands stateside, unless you want the limited edition, which will be more.
FF titles always sell for a premium in Japan. This isn't surprising news, but it is still bad news for importers. :(
I hope this game ships with some kind of superboss(es), and SE don't stick in a whole load of them for the "international" version like they did with FFVII (in Japan) and FFX (which never got the Dark Aeons or Penance in the US).
Again, I'm all for celebrating inFamous as a great title, exclusive or no. My beef is with the generic "evidence" they use to support their argument. This article single-handedly invented extreme milquetoast.
First, I loved inFamous. Perfect pacing, amazing replay value...one of the best of the year for sure.
But this article...Quote: "This game had 176,000 units in it’s first week, which means that many people had wanted this game."
Hahahaha! What???
They also mention, "This game was reserved by many at stores such as Wal-Mart." How long did their research department spend scouring the internet for the name of a store they could mentio...
I have not had any of these problems. Firmware 3 looks great (32-inch Samsung LCD), runs smoothly, and I haven't had a single problem with freezes. I'm also rocking the 3D zebras from the Afrika theme! Really, it seems to me like people wanted the firmware update to transform their PS3 into the PS4 or something.
Edit: I'm on a "fat" 40GB model.
@ 7.0: Need attention much?
On topic, I appreciated what the guy said about Kojima basically paying his success forward and helping out someone he sees as a promising developer. Great interview.
How hard would a Death Note theme rock?
...Or a Love Hina theme lol. Keitaro and Motoko sword fighting for all eternity behind my XMB. Bliss.
@ grin
How in the h311 did you get a disagree for a suggestion about how to start up a Japanese account??
Have a bubble on me.
On the contrary, I hope it IS clothes or some other garbage so I know for sure it won't be worth buying. If they cut out sidequests or something and sell it as DLC, that's when I'll be really annoyed.
Whaaaaaa? Haven't they been all high and mighty about "we include the whole game on the disc la de da..."? Maybe next they can charge monthly payments for FFXIII as well as FFXIV.
Unpublished or unannounced? Maybe we'll finally get some FFVXIII love?
