Actually I think a lot of people will buy this because reviewers love it, play for about 2 hours, and immediately trade it in because it's too hard. Just a hunch.
Hating on UC2 right in your avatar...need some attention, Major? On topic, I've also been waiting a long time for this game to show up in the US.
T.O.D. was literally a Day 1 for me because I bought it with my PS3. This game will be my second plat trophy.
US servers go online on launch day, Oct. 6.
The genre is "Tim Schafer Game." Think the free-roaming action of Psychonauts with heavy metal, swearing, and axe fights.
It does suck, but with PS3 there's always a chance to import.
Is this how twitter plans to take over N4G? lol
Edit: I'm sure Forza 3 is fine. My disdain is for the news, not the game.
@droid
I disagreed, but not angrily. :) It seems to me that From Software meant this to be an online game from the get-go. Summoning allies and breaking into other people's games as a black phantom are too awesome to be casually tacked on.
Like you, though, I'm totally jazzed about this game. Picking it up Tuesday after work.
I suppose Twitter could be even more up-to-date than N4G (not by much), but I could check all the tweets of my favorite devs on a single page with N4G.
They forgot to add "Beating Yiazmat." A party at lvl 94, all with ultimate weapons, and it still took over 3 hours...
And yet that was the SECOND time I did it. :P
Yeah, 1.5 mil sure is crappy. /sarc
I'm sure any publisher on the planet would kill to do numbers like FFXIII will do, regardless of this, er, shocking downturn.
@ hay
It won't be $100 in the US. That's only the Japanese MSRP, and even a lot of Japanese stores are selling it for closer to $70 US. In the States it will be the regular $60 (more for a limited edition obviously).
That being said, I'd gladly fork over $100 of Christmas money for import if Square puts English subs in the Japanese release. Which they won't. *sigh*
@happy
It's okay that the PS3 doesn't have Gears. Do like me and buy Uncharted 2 in two weeks. Just don't bank on Quantum being awesome. Maybe Tecmo will prove me wrong, but from the footage so far, they've got a lot of work ahead of them if this game is to be anything but average.
I get what you're trying to do, Ghostie, but to be honest it comes off a little strange. Anyway, Quantum Theory will most likely not be part of my growing PS3 library. The art design and what little gameplay they've shown are simply too generic to be interesting.
Dang, even Edge likes Demon's Souls. That game must be fantastic. They didn't like Sigma 2, but I loved the first one and I enjoyed the demo for 2.
So which brutally difficult game gets my hard-earned jack? Demon's Souls or NGS2? Must save the rest of my money for UC2 and R&C. ;)
Whether the Master Chief bust is lame or not (it is), it is not made of polystyrene (more commonly called Styrofoam here in the States), but rather Polystone, which is a resin-based medium used to make bathroom counters in upscale private jets, among other things.
Started the DL this morning. Cannot swing Dragon Sword until after work.
Better yet, they make a deal with fans that if the game sells 1 million in a certain amount of time (2 weeks or whatever), they make a FREE dynamic theme.
I've been enjoying Wipeout HD for several months now (and Fury since it was released), and I can't believe the content available for, in total, less than $30. If the Bluray is the same price as DL, I would probably get that instead, but if you like racers, you have to try this game.
Already picked it up. I'm on the second boss, the Tower Knight (from all the trailers). Wow. Step aside, Ninja Gaiden. There's a new toughest kid in town.
