Maybe it's a small team because they're not rebuilding the engine? Anyway, I'll probably check this one out. I finally picked up the first game for $30 and thought it was pretty great. The only two things I'd fix are the rampant screen-tearing, which made some of the quicker large scale moments really confusing, and the inability to play chapter time trials offline.
First of all, bubbles for your username. :)
Now, to me the disagrees are pointless not because my opinion is so great, but because the disagreers rarely seem to contribute to the conversation. Disagree? Great! But have the sack to discuss it. (I also should have realized that mentioning disagrees would only encourage more of them. Been here long enough to know better.)
For the record, I agree with you that FFXIII in Japan won't sell a tenth of the copies on 360...
I'm also starting to notice that any comment even acknowledging the 360 as an existing piece of hardware gets thumbed down hard. Listen, I bought a PS3 to play FFXIII, and until then I will continue to enjoy the many rocking games available on it. I don't own a 360, but that doesn't mean no one owns a 360. Square is chasing the market the way they want to, and even if it seems strange to many of us, they're a multi-billion dollar company and most of us on here (I'm guessing) aren't.
Anyone with a lick of common sense has known this would happen. Only releasing on PS3 in Japan makes about as much sense as only releasing on the 360 in the west. Once the game is finished, they might as well release it, right? It's not a true exclusive, so who cares if any single region is exclusive?
Just finish the game, for the love of God.
Edit: Is it just me, or have the disagrees become even more abundant and pointless since E3?
@ several posters:
The trailer I mentioned is all in-game and listed as E3 09, unlike the CG trailer from E3 08.

However, I've certainly made mistakes before. Apologies if I've done so again.
@above: NG Sigma 2 is on my short list of Day 1 buys for the rest of 09. Loved the first one.
Can't quite side with the dev on this one. Just rewatched the E3 trailer, and I've come up with a comparison:
Quantum is to Gears as Prototype is to inFamous.
@foxgod
No joke, right? Ghostbusters was my favorite movie for like 10 years (I'm 30). This game could totally suck nard and I would still pick it up on Day 1. I've wanted to bust ghosts for a long, long time now. No more wearing a stuffed backpack and making my own sound effects after next Tuesday! :)
Smart move. I'm surprised more games haven't done this. Now the real question is whether Square Enix will wise up and put English or other language subs (if not tracks) into the Japanese release of FFXIII.
I'm glad he like the game too. However, anyone else feel like you've read this review before? Everyone in high school or college should take a good look at this. It's called plagiarism, and this review is full of it.
This paragraph from the Gaming Heaven review is the worst offender:
"Between missions you get to play about in the firehouse and you can listen in on Janine’s telephone calls as well interact with the jumping toaster on the pool table - these are...
This site gave me good news AND a new desktop wallpaper.
Curiously, this review said six hour campaign, but I've already read eight and ten. Either way, I play all my other games at least twice, so I'm not worried.
"Am I like my father?"
"No, he was masculine and likeable."
Okay I'm out.
Holy Avatar! Buddy, you can say whatever the hell you want and I'll give you bubbles just to see that grizzled mug on every comment.
"Name's Rowsdower, kid. Zap Rowsdower."
Kojima and Dracula??? Right freaking on.
Only complaint: is anyone else starting to feel like most games have a very similar look this gen? This could be DMC or Bayonetta or even NG to a certain extent. I understand that it's too time-consuming to build new engines all the time, but games that DO have original engines are the ones that really knock your socks off. I'm thinking R&C, Uncharted, FFXIII, and Valkyria Chronicles, to name a few.
Still, Kojima worki...
"Sony did promise us native 1080p@60FPS gaming from launch, but we are still waiting. "
Wait, aren't there games that already do this? I don't have a list in front of me, but Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Wipeout HD spring to mind. GT5 Prologue too, maybe. Can anyone clarify?
Yeah, in Japan maybe. Seriously, why don't they fire Wada?
Honestly I hope not. Sony, MS, and Nintendo all need to focus on great exclusives, not sharing or stealing other platforms' best sellers.
Maybe Valve are turning over a new leaf. Usually a new game from them takes ages.
Me too. But even more, I hope that there's enough space left on the Bluray to add the Japanese voices as an option. Unless Microsoft's agreement with Square also bans any extra content for PS3.
lol at Maiku, you're exactly right. People have already said the game sucks because it's on 360. Whatever. I'll get it for PS3 the day it comes out no matter what.
And English voice acting?? You know, if they're this far along with the 360 demo, why in the hell couldn't the US get the demo along with Advent Children and just put it up as a download for 360 gamers? Come on, Square!
Wow. Childish, unnecessary, AND offensive. Good work, AATG.
