The first line isn't even the worst. How about saying that Sony is "Known for price gouging"? Here's another good one, "Consumers are aware that Sony products are expensive." And finally a quote from a Harvey Norman franchisee (Harvey Norman?): "Sony has a problem, but discounting isn't the answer."
So in short, this article tells us that Sony's products are so expensive that their prices could be considered price gouging, but lowering their price...
I've played through TOD 5 times now and I STILL haven't upgraded/unlocked everything.
Brutal scores. An iPhone game gets the best score of the month? Yeesh. At least they liked the new MegaTen game.
Picked this up on launch day. It's half the price of the original game, but almost equal in content. The original had 87 medals to win, Fury has 80. My sense so far is that it's a bit tougher (!) than Wipeout HD, but a perfect addition to, in my opinion, the most polished racer on the PS3.
Edit: My only gripe is that for those of us who still play on an SDTV, the updated menus in the game are very difficult to read.
I'm glad someone else thinks so too. This is the second article in the last few weeks where the writer essentially shouts the F word at his readers. Readers who, by the way, are the only reason he has a job. Perfect example of our culture's sense of entitlement.
@ cherrypie: You can't possibly believe everything you just typed. Either you want attention that you can't get through positive channels, or you are plum loco. I can't even bring myself to waste breath arguing with your points one-by-one. Sorry.
Man I love these sales. I've picked up Rogue Squadron II (GC), Psychonauts (PC), and now Beyond Good & Evil (PC) all for under $7 in the last couple months. I can't believe how long it's taken me to play some of these classics.
The textures will pop in SO HARD that they will break your TV screen.
lol @ Megatron. You get an agree and a bubble for disagreeing. :)
Wipeout! Fantastic. Game on.
I didn't think it looked that great at first. However, I own both Viewtiful Joe and Okami, not to mention DMC1 and DMC4, and they're outstanding. I hope Sega releases a demo when the game comes out. If not, I might just stick with Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.
Yeah, my wife and I subscribe to Netflix and the DVDs they send us are in miserable condition. I can't speak to the condition of Blurays from them, but I'm sure people don't take good care of them either.
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM3D!
Must be a slow day at the HD-DVD branch of the Technological Department of Sour Grapes.
I still haven't beat DQVIII! I thought Persona 3 was grind-heavy, but this new DQ sounds like a nightmare.
On a side note, the graphics look absolutely fantastic for DS.
The article's first paragraph says it all. Nomura has said before that Lightning is at least partially based on Cloud. This is not surprising, as FFVII is by far the most famous FF with the most spinoffs, etc. Not sure how this topic is "perplexing" if Nomura himself has said it's true. Mystery solved!
I don't know, those games already look amazing. I'm glad Ueda-san is working on new stuff. Very excited for The Last Guardian.
@1.0: Seriously, I saw the birds circling the head of the first colossus and I knew I was in for something special. Love that game. I hate to break it to you, but I don't think there's any way that Torico (the eagle thing) will survive the game. The arrows sticking out of it and the fact that it will be very dangerous when it's grown up makes me think it will bite the dust just as you're about to help it escape at the end of the game. I hope not, but I have a baaaad feeling about it.
No need to get nasty. I realize Prototype is on the PS3, but anyone who has kept half an eye on N4G or the rest of the internet over the last month will know that many sites have used inFamous and Prototype as fuel for system war articles. How else do you think this ridiculous excuse for an article got so many hits?
Art design looks like the Ivalice games (FF Tactics series, FFXII). I was hoping Square would continue those games on the home consoles but I should have known better. They love them some DS.
Isn't this the third time this summer that a Destructoid has invited me to shut the eff up? I hope really like the silence they're asking for, because if that's how little they respect their readers, their website is bound to become nice and quiet.
