Except, did they make it even harder? The reviewer says that when you die, "Any loot you’ve collected disappears." In the US version, you lost your souls, but anything you picked up was still in your inventory. I hope he just made a mistake, because...yikes.
Ditto for me on PS3. I'm in Ohio. The guy at the counter put my coupon in his pocket to use later lol.
Got my Plat tonight, about 128 hours in! Woot!
Edit: FFXIII Plat "only" took me 94 hours. Demon's Souls is friggin epic.
Got the bladestone through regular leveling up (BP Skeleton + Soulsucker). The only stone I still need is Marrow. Stupid swamps...
Even a DLC pack that opens the last stone to the realm of the giants. That would be easy, right? XD
On my fourth playthrough of the original, two trophies away from Plat. I'm actually more excited about Demon's Souls 2 than anything else on the radar. (Sorry, Ueda-san!)
Tretton made it sound like there would be a general 3-month free trial for everyone, but as you pointed out, the PS Blog clearly shows you have to buy a year to get the free 3 months EXTRA. I'm confused.
Sony mentioned in their presser that the games they announced as supporting 3D would ship both versions (3d and regular) on the same disc. There's no way they'd charge more than $60 for that because most people won't even want the 3D, at least in the beginning.
Ditto. I'm actually glad it's not out until 2011, though. This holiday season will punish my wallet.
Yoichi "I Hate Final Fantasy" Wada would never allow this to happen. The universe will simply become tackier with Square's imminent announcement of three lame "western" shooters.
Maybe this time they will make it possible to actually land on an aircraft carrier. :)
Remind anyone else of Rebel Assault?
Good grief, can people not shut up about FFXIII? I earned the Plat trophy after 94 hours and never got sick of it.
All reviewers, great or small, have a right to their opinions--I've been waiting four years for this game and will buy it regardless of scores.
And you think I'm making up the media bias? Check out which "multi-plat" reviews only go up on the PS3 or 360 pages at Metacritic for yourself. Or go read Richard Leadbetter's Digital Foundry article on Eurogamer about graphical differences between consoles--dude sounds like he's about to start crying. Or how about IGN delayi...
Square didn't make Blue Dragon. That was Mistwalker, headed by Hironubu Sakaguchi, original creator of Final Fantasy.
Edit: Same case for Lost Odyssey. Nice try though.
@1: No surprise except that the console versions are still on schedule. Wonder if those will come next...
I would prefer a good PoP game a month or two late over a merely decent one in time for the movie release. Although I'm still annoyed they canned the story and style they created with the las PoP game (Prince and Elika). I liked that game.
Good thing they specified that they tested the PS3 version, ensuring that the 5/10 wouldn't appear on the 360 metacritic page. *eyeroll*
Indie gaming sites and blogs may not be as affected by money from corporate advertisers, but they're still motivated by getting hits.
RandomNPC is entitled to their opinion, but really they're a "Random" no-name site with a no-name reviewer ragging on a high profile game to generate hits.
Maybe you even write for them, which is fine, but you could maintain some dignity by not creating multiple accounts to agree with yourself and disagree with others.
...
I normally ignore the disagree fairy, but HOW THE EFF do you disagree with simple math??
Okay I'm better now. ;)
It'll be a battle between who's got more pull at SE--Yoichi Wada (multiplat) or Tetsuya Nomura (exclusive).
