Cool, can I buy all your old PS3 games then? I'll pay 1/5 retail since you undoubtedly played them so much they're scratched all to heck (because your PS3--sorry, PS3's--scratched game discs too, didn't they?).

Cross-platform good will?! +bub for you sir.

@1.0: That's waaaaay too mature a sentiment for the internet. I'll thank you to dumb it down a little.

@1.1 "Hits maybe??"

Since this is the third site I've seen comparing those two pictures in the last week, the websites are obviously getting loads of hits off them. Get ready for another six months of this.

Wow, does PC World want to increase its hits much? Sixteen-page story ftl.

On topic, I finished RE5 last night. Enjoyed it. However, I feel like RE4 actually seemed MORE violent than RE5 (with the exception of Chris's head stomping move). The blood, the setting, the grainy look of RE4 just seemed more violent to me than the super slick graphics and daylight settings of RE5.

R&C:ToD is absolutely fantastic. I've played through 3.5 times already. My favorite in the series (with Up Your Arsenal on PS2 being second). Q4B on the PSN is okay, but probably not worth the $15 in my opinion.

Been waiting for this one. I bought R&CF:ToD the day I bought my PS3. This will be a day 1 buy, no question.

Edit: Holy crap, I gotta start saving my pennies. Ghostbusters, FFVII:ACC (with demo, please), NGS2, Uncharted 2, GOWIII, all in 2009? I guess I'd better finish RE5 and Valkyria Chronicles so I can make some room in my schedule. :)

"Now we'll never know if that was what made the 360 version take a performance hit or if the 360 is simply inferior, as far as running the Ninja Gaiden engine goes."

Really? That's the first thing you thought of when you heard the Sigma 2 announcement? Are you looking forward to actually playing the game, or just strapping on your microscope and watching the inevitable comparison vids? Sheesh.

"If it's good though, not having blood isn't a reason to not buy it either."

Excellent point. Thanks for being sane.

@13.1 "I am surely not playing a Ninja Gaiden game for its cheesy dialog and storyline"

And neither am I. I'm playing Ninja Gaiden because the depth of combat makes all other action games look like butthole. Crappy storytelling? Check. Corny costumes? Check. Over the top enemies? Check. Best freaking combat en...

I think Nomura IS cracking on FFVXIII. FFXIII's director is Motomu Toriyama. This article is confused and unhelpful.

Totally agree. The ridiculous gore from NGII was one of the (few) turnoffs for me about that game. I had hoped that the PS3 version would have an option to turn it off, so this is good news for me.

For all others wishing they'd added MORE blood or whatever, there are plenty of games that cater to your bloodlust, right? Not every game has to be torture-porn.

There's a good chance your right, but you can't just say "HUH-UH!" and expect people to trust you. If you have heard definitive information on the subject, share it with the rest of us. Otherwise you're speculating just like this article.

Didn't the first Sigma sell well enough to get a Greatest Hits release in the US? Only a handful of games have done that so far.

6171d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

Hell yes. Ayane looks wicked fast and awesome, the other chick whatever. Also, did they tone down the blood for this version? That was actually one of the turnoffs for me when I saw video of NGII. Maybe you can turn off the blood and stuff in options. Either way, I'm glad I finally get to try this game out, and with the extra stuff. I've beaten NGS twice already, and will have to do so again before fall.

My post should say FFVII: Advent Children rather than FFV. My mistake. Guess I'm confused too. :)

6171d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Wow, lots of confusion here. The "bonus" would not be FFV: Advent Children; that is the main event, so to speak. The bonus MIGHT be a demo of FFXIII that Japan is already getting as a limited edition in April.

Also @ 2.0, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but Square has done this before, as have other gaming companies. Dragon Quest VIII shipped with a (horrendous) demo of FFXII on the PS2 and Crackdown shipped with a Halo 3 MP demo on the 360, I believe...

Exactly. Now I'm not going to get my hopes up too high because Square is always very Japan-centric--which is of course their right--but if their company is in such desperate straits, then a US/Europe demo with FFVII:ACC would make a LOT of sense. Here's hoping.

The PS3 has no disc tray, and there is no PS3 Slim, so you cannot have had two of them. Either you mean PS2 or you REALLY need to quit posting here.

@below: Just making sure. :P

I don't know if you disagreed with me or not, but I think we're pretty much saying the same thing. You have to admit that other companies were coming up with small-scale achievements before Microsoft did it. But you're dead right that MS were the ones to implement it across all games, and that was a damn good move by them.

6171d ago 8 agree1 disagreeView comment

Gee, didn't expect that.

Anyway, I hope that my record on this site shows that I don't like to start or contribute to flame wars, but...really? I mean...REALLY? The 360 doesn't get any respect? The 360 was dumped on pretty hard when it first came out (no games, graphics not that great, etc), but since the PS3 came out, the 360 has gotten a free ride from most outlets in the gaming media, while the PS3 gets crapped on and the Wii gets ignored (unless people are pointing out how...

You're right that R&C had a big part in pushing the concept of achievements forward, they didn't invent the in-game reward system. Even so, you really do have to tip your hat to Microsoft for making achievements a system-wide institution. Let's be honest, if Achievements weren't so popular, Sony never would have included Trophies in their software. Credit where credit is due.
