They gave basically no reason as to why the game(s) won't be on PS3. I read the Mass Effect 2 section and it just said it's not happening. Well what journalistic skill does it take to say that? I was hoping they would say why like maybe there's a deal on exclusivity or the engine is 360 specific but nothing.

until last night I played some guy that was using the Javelin to magically kill me. It wasn't really infuriating; it was just curious. I guess I haven't really played enough to get upset by it. Gotta say they fixed that thing quick.

Are you really that insecure about Halo 3 ODLC?

Anyway, I don't know why every game has to fit in a genre. This game can't be called adventure, action adventure, an RPG, and it's certainly not a QTE movie like Dragon's Lair.
It's something new. Something we can't really put in a nice little box labeled [insert whatever here]. Why can't we as gamers embrace that?

Maybe if you're in your teens and haven't had enough curb stomping aliens with your anatomically ...

I forgot about that game! Thanks for reminding me. So yeah, it's going to be a really crazy year. Can you imagine if they did a God of War Collection treatment for Shadow of the Collussus and maybe bundled it in with The Last Guardian for a limited time only? Or maybe just release Ico and SOTC on PSN?

Loving what 09 brought but will probably die of happiness in '10.

GTA4 had its pluses, but it also had a great many negatives. I hope they don't get too big a head cuz of all the critical acclaim and listen to the game buying public that, for the most part, were disappointed.

I don't even want to think about the money I spent on games. Next year is going to be brutal. I swear the amount of games coming out has kept me from getting a 360. Everytime I try I think of all the games I could get with that money and I chicken out. DARN YOU SONY!!!!

I don't think MS has given up on the console market. There are, afterall, no shortage of 360 commercials on tv (at least by me). The problem with MS is that they got over confident. Rather than be content and battle it out with Sony, they're trying combat Nintendo in the casual gaming demographic with casual games and now Natal. Sony has been doing the same, but not at the expense of hardcore exclusive games. Look at this year, MS gave 360 owners Forza, 2 DLC episodes of GTA and Halo Wars. Th...

The way Sony's been performing lately, it's possible. But you can't discount the power of Halo. Halo Reach actually looks like a next-gen game. Bungie finally made a new engine to take advantage of the 360. And you gotta think another Gears is dropping in '10. But will Halo Reach, Gears 3, Mass Effect 2 be enough to combat God of War III, GT5, Heavy Rain, FFXIII (Japan), and possibly Resistance 3? I dunno. It's going to be interesting.

Edit: Has Agent been confirmed for 2010?

Agree completely. As for the afterlife, I can't say. But I do find some solace in the fact that I'm a gamer and I know when I'm old and retired I'll still be a gamer. Most older folks pass on because they have nothing to do after they retire. While it sounds kinda morbid, the thought of staying home, getting paid, and having all the time in the world to play games is just crazy to me.

Here's to gamers. Fanboys miss out.

and Halo Wars has gotta be at the top of the list followed by Too Human.

Not many exclusives to get if you're not interested in sim racers. I suppose the back catalog of 360 games and all the solid 3rd party games are all you can really look to.

Oh wait, the GTA DLCs were supposed to be pretty good.

To think some people try to act like the problem is people are buying new consoles once they get their broken one back from MS. People aren't that rich. The problem is that a refurbed console is just codeword for "hope your lucky." Some of you may not have probs with the refurb, but most will. Heck, anyone ever get a refurbed phone when your first breaks? It's no fun.

and it released before the marketing blitz and crazy sales we're seeing now. To sell a million games is really impressive all things considered. I wouldn't be surprised if it hits 2 million by the end of the year.

I remember begging for a Sega Saturn because I was a Virtua Fighter nut back then. Then Playstation dropped. I clowned the new system but all my friends, the mags, and even the clerks at the store were singing it praises. GameDay was regarded as amazing. Battle Arena Toshinden, Tekken, Wipeout XL. But what did it was when I first saw the FFVII demo. I had to have the system. Good times. Crazy to think that we'll look back on the PS3 in probably the same way in 15 years.

I'm not going to buy another console for a long time. I mean, unless PS4 and Xbox 720 are just flat out amazing, I don't see why these two can't go for another four years. Great to be a gamer.

Greg Miller is making a career on catering to the fanboys. He realizes that headlines that are fanboyish get hits, he realizes that yelling anti-360 comments on a PS3 podcast gets them listeners, and he does all this not in a crazy way but in a cute or what he thinks is cute and funny way.

This article is case in point. Why write this? The 360 fanboys are going to flood IGN with comments degrading him, and the PS3 fanboys cheer him on. Both guys equal hits. Not much different th...

Yeah, everything you said to cmbre is true. HD-DVD and blu-ray were nothing more than concepts. But I think it's fair to say that MS should've held off one more year before launching the 360. Sure they gained a year on Sony by coming out first, but at what cost? A RROD fiasco that cost them a billion plus. Now a console that forces devs to develop for the lowest common denominator (the arcade sku) and a disc format that doesn't have anywhere near the space of blu-ray.

6028d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

don't say that. Some people have entire blogs built around the premise that blu-ray doesn't matter. It's like dogma to them. To tell them that it does matter is pure blasphemy in their eyes. Meanwhile FFXIII is one disc on PS3 and....lord knows how many on 360.

6028d ago 14 agree4 disagreeView comment

that shouldn't be a prob for 360 owners. It would be a real pain if you had to switch discs say whenever you went to a certain planet.

I mean, why raise the price when you know you're going to P*** a lot of people off. But considering that: 1) the price of 360 is getting cheaper and MS isn't one to do the customer a favor. Raising the price of Live can balance that out; and 2) 360 peripherals/functionality isn't exactly cheap. Look at the price of a Wifi adapter or a HDD. If you don't know any better, you could literally wind up paying almost 500 bucks (199.99 arcade, 100.00 Wifi, 100.00 HDD, Live fee) to really get your 360...
