you wind up spending more money than you would if you got the money off the game. They give you the gift card, and most of us aren't going to buy something worth the value of the gift card. This may the be justification to get those surround sound headphones you've always wanted or maybe another game. I'd rather they just gave us the money off instantly but then again I could use some Bose headphones ;)

There can be no real subjective test for this. Factor in price as well. You could have a 3 hour campaign mode but if your multiplayer is amazing, works well, and has enough replayability to keep the game fresh then I'll gladly hand you full price.
If your game has multiplayer only, then i think you should do the gamer a solid and charge 20 to 25 less than retail price.

Hey, I think this is pretty cool. Get some other bibles up there in addition to the Judeo Christian version. How awesome would it be if a substantial number of gamers could speak intelligently about the differences between the Christian Bible and the book of Buddha, and then go right into the best strategy in Gears. got it for PS3 and can't wait to get it going this weekend. Some of the most fun moments I've ever had were playing multiplayer with a group of friends. I can't believe the backlash the game's getting. The single player in the first one was short. I got my money's worth on the multiplayer. And it's not like they pulled an ODST and gave me maps I already had. These are all brand new maps.

This is short, sweet, and to the point. Reminescent of the PS2 type ads. And the frequency with which they're shown is incredible. Everyone has seen these ads. My mom asked if she should buy a PS3 instead of another blu-ray player!

they have so much money yet they haven't purchased any major studios. They buy exclusivity of games but why not pick up the whole stuido responsible? Buying Bioware would've been great for them.
MS needs to build up their 1st and 2nd party devs. That way you don't just own the exclusive rights to a game that many didn't like (e.g. GTA4), but you own whatever they put out.
and I know Mass Effect 2 will be that ish. Hard to be upset with Bioware. great purchase by EA. Now give me a Road Rash made by Criteron games.
