and you will see that certain games are NOT too easy. Maybe it's cheap, maybe it was unfair, but the last segment of that game was pull your hair out crazy on Elite. And before I get flammed, I did eventually beat that game on Elite.

but I think I loved it so much because a dev finally made a Batman game right and paid homage to diehard fans by being so truthful to the comics.

My runner-up would probably be Killzone 2. From the single player to the multiplayer I felt Guerilla not only lived up to the hype but, in some areas, exceeded the hype.

That gives them almost 6 months to work out bugs, shine the visuals, and make sure it's ready for a fall release date.

between what he's ranting about and some guys in a forum discussing what sports team is better and why? Yeah it's not exactly a debate on fine literature with smoke filled rooms and brandy, but it's just harmless discussion. I don't get why Tor is even so upset about the "system [blank] is better than whatever system" talk. If you like sports and don't get into the fan v. fan trash talking does that trash talk deflect from your enjoyment of the game? No. Same is true here.

I was always a quality over quantity guy. 3rd party games may outnumber exclusives released yearly, but if only 10% of them are worth a darn then what's your point? I know it's a matter of taste, but I think most of us would agree that PS3 exclusives are, by and large, better than 3rd party games. And I pointed to those two devs because they did some amazing things on PS3. What are you saying? Because so many 3rd party devs struggle that my point is somehow negated? Again, quality over quanti...

"I wouldn't go to crazy, those are two movies that are big with the 18-34 age crowd
blu ray wont take over until the 35-60 demo takes off with hdtv"

Dude, the 18-34 demo is the key demo for most entertainment items. While it would be nice to have the older demographic it's not crucial that not having it will keep blu-ray from taking off.

When DVD was at this point in its history I'm sure most older people were fine with VHS. They probably only really...

And if you think Blu-ray isn't necessary for games, the devs at Naughty Dog and Guerilla Games would disagree.

Warhawk, Killzone2, Uncharted 2, MAG in the near future, and all the 3rd party games as well. Once these premimum features come out it'll be interesting to see how the Live v. PSN articles compare and contrast the two services.

was incredible. I remember playing that game for what seemed like forever and just when I thought I was done Kefka did something that changed the game and I had to play for like another 20 hours. Maybe it's nostalgia, or maybe it's just the fact that FFVI was a great game.

I would agree if this were still 2006/early 2007. The PSN interface is very sleek and easy to operate. Not sure what you're talking about.

245k PS3 v. 7k for 360

MS, it's time to pack up and get the bleep outta Japan. Take those resources and use them to make new games, improve Live, or maybe make live cheaper. No need to keep throwing good money after bad.

Well, in one year Sony cut that lead down to 5. By next year we could be talking a mere one million unit lead if that.

And I don't count the Wii. The Wii is in its own category.

and I hope MS won't repeat the same mistakes next time.

Guy explained why blu-ray matters for more than cutscenes, the rigors of programming on the PS3 compared to 360 but the results you can get if you put in the work.

User interface is really a matter of opinion, no?

Outside of the hardcore PS3 owners on N4G, NeoGaf, etc, U.S PS3 owners just don't buy games like 360 owners. But in Europe and Japan I think it'll do very well. Especially in Europe.

But in the end I don't own stock in Sony so I gain nothing from bad sales or good sales other than assurance that we'll get a sequel. I'm buying it day one.

Games cost what movies cost to make. Publishers want to maximize profits. If the PS3 or 360 had a substantially larger user base than the other, then more games would be exclusive. But the two are too close for most pubs to pass up the other system. Even if it means not doing something in your game because either console is limiting you.

But hey, PS3's in-house devs are not only diverse in what they produce but they are actually working to exploit the power of the system. So whi...

I think HHG means Sony finally kills Mario Kart. Why the finally is there, I dunno. Maybe I'm alone here but I wasn't exactly looking for Sony or MS to kill Mario [Kart]. But it's kinda crazy to say a new IP is going to kill one that's been around for more than a decade. Statements like that are what lead to the whole "Halo Killer" controversy with Killzone 1. Just let a good game stand on its own. No need to say it trumps this or kills that.
