Especially when they add in some anime themes and over the top action. Unfortunately, I'm a staunch opponent of paying full price for an inferior port. Hope they patch it because I have to miss out on it until they do.
PS1? PS2? PS3? If you say the either of the former you're out of your mind and if you say the latter you must be so myopic that you don't realize the U.S. doesn't equal world wide sales. World wide the PS3 is second only to the Wii and even if not ahead of the 360 despite having such a higher price point for so long. In the U.S. Sony is competitive but MS has claimed the U.S. as it's own...for now.
But seriously, failure? I was watching some AVGN videos about the 32x and Sega cd...
F! Oh well. Been looking forward to this for a good while. Day one for me.
when we talk best console graphics we usually only mention PS3 exclusives yet we're STILL getting bad ports like Bayonetta.
but it's all done by different people. Perhaps the guy that reviewed this game would've given DarkSiders a higher score than it got.
Either way, it looks like this is a solid game at the least. I'll definitely rent it.
Are we talking U.S. sales only or worldwide sales? I'll agree that we're Halo crazy over here in the U.S. Halo Reach may well be the biggest selling game of 2010 in the U.S. But worldwide I think it'll be GT5 (assuming the game comes out by summer).
and I cringe at the thought. It may be novel for a half-hour or maybe even an hour but what about those prolonged gaming sessions? If you're on N4G you're probably a pretty hardcore gamer. I could play games on a 12 hour binge if I had the time. Probably more. Do I want to use Natal or motion controller tech for that? Not really. Do you guys?
Don't get me wrong. I'm not dismissing the idea and I'm sure it'll garner attention from the usual places, but are any of you really looki...
until I saw Avatar in Imax. Comments about the movie aside, the technical achievements were amazing. I don't know if prolonged exposure to that sort of stuff is more likely to result in epilitic seizures, but it is certainly worth exploring. In fact, I wish more resources went into 3D tech than motion controllers. Then again maybe a combination of the two would change my mind.
Quick question: Anyone know if you have to have a 120hz TV for any of this?
But Natal? Do you guys think it'll take off? I think MS and Sony are chasing a demographic that will forever belong to Nintendo. Some people may pick it up, but I doubt either will come close to duplicating the success of the Wii. Can't blame either MS or Sony for trying. This, like the NFL, is a copy-cat business.
MS really sliced a piece out of the gaming pie this gen. Looks like they're here to stay. With that many 360s out there there's no way they could discontinue support for the system when the next console comes out. I always say competition among the companies is a win-win for gamers.
Attach rate for FFXIII was through the roof. Not to mention all those bundles that sold out over there. Hard to sell people a second copy of a game they already own.
I was a huge RE fan back in the PS1 days but I haven't really got into the series this gen. Controls just feel antiquated. Dead Space felt more like what I wanted out of Resident Evil 5.
Holy crap. I didn't know that. A nighttime race in NYC? Sign me up!
Naughty Dog and Guerilla said the same and yet people still discount blu-ray and the PS3 hardware in general.
And the fact that someone needs to bring up Haze as an attempt to refute that statement is pathetic. Certain Devs are more talented than others. If your game is exclusive to the PS3, but your devs don't have the talent to exploit the system, then you can make that claim (it's only possible on PS3) but it won't mean much. Look what Epic does on 360. I think Gears is amazin...
of grading in incriments of .5? I agree that withholding the .02 is kinda crazy but isn't the entire review process arbitrary as all heck?
and ONLY because there are too many good games coming out in the next couple of weeks. I'm already looking at upwards of 200 bucks for the four games I really want and then I'm probably at that same amount for the Fall releases. 7.8 is about what I expected this to get. The 9's the game received were really surprising. I do want to play it for myself so I'll probably pick it up as a rental. Unless any of you have played it and would strongly recommended it to a guy that loves single player ga...
I'm a huge DMC1 fan and I was really looking forward to see what the creator did with this. All the high praise and over the top action intrigues me. Unfortunately, as a PS3 only owner I'm getting an inferior version. Despite what some sites reported, it appears the PS3 version is not locked in at 60fps. Maybe if they patch everything I'll get the game used (and cheaper) but I guess I'm stuck trophying some old games while I wait for Heavy Rain.
Think about all the talk of "Sony must drop that price" before the price drop. 1up had Sony packing up and going out of business because things were so bad. Nevermind how well Sony was selling considering it's price worldwide. After the price drop and a GREAT ad campaign Sony did great November and presumably December numbers. Larger install base can only mean a larger attach rate.
but I'm not sure I'd ever really use it for a big AAA game. Not just because of the reasons you guys gave, but also because if something happens to my HDD all those games are gone and I have to re-download them. Also, there's something to be said for being able to let a bud borrow a game w/o giving him your username and pw. Plus I do like being able to sell my game(s) used if I want to. And Digital Distribution isn't any cheaper.
It's becomming harder and harder to avoid spoilers on this game. And a game like this, where the story is everything, make it really hard to read anything about it within weeks of its release.
