Day one for me. In fact, I'm going to pay for my own internet provider since my school won't let me use theirs for my PS3. I just HAVE to play R2's multiplayer.
These PS4 rumors are permeating N4G to an extent I find unbelievable. Does anyone really think Sony would drop PS4 within the next 3 years?

Now is the time. 299.99 for a friggin PS3. Wow. 360 forced their hand with the 199.99 price point. At 299.99 the PS3 is right there and affordable for the mass market. Good stuff.
Wipeout HD is pure awesomeness and, hopefully, an NBA Live demo should be more than enough for me. I'm good. I'm going to download the new Madden patch (which I hear still hasn't fixed the freezing), the Burnout patch, the latest demos, and, of course, Wipeout HD!!!
retro was going to be awesome. I'll still play the game but I'm not starting a new one for trophies.

at least for the 20gb hdd. Good stuff Target. MS, you're the cheapest of the three but you know that all those soon to be arcade owners are going to need a HDD. Why not make this permanent?
if you can't afford a PS3, or your parents refuse to pay the extra 200 when the comp is cheaper than I feel for you. But 360 isn't a bad consolation prize. In fact, I may pick up a 360 this Holiday season for Gears 2. But Sony's lineup this holiday season should all sell A MILI A MILI A MILI.....couldn't resist.
to each their own. One of my buds recently got a PS3 after his 4th 360 died on him. He still gripes about somethings but the fear of RROD is keeping him away.
Frankly, I appreciate everything MS tried to do with 360. The way you can talk with a bud while playing a different game, achievements in all games, and Halo is a reason in it of itself.
However, I love that I was able to up my HDD w/o paying for an overpriced one, the library of games dropping this year and ...

any differences are negligible at best. Any attempt to make either version better than the other is pure fanboyism.
I think Ryan helped with the gameplay overall; not just the controls.
And if this is true then great move by Bungie. At 199.99, I was thinking about picking up a 360 but I'll wait until I'm sure Halo 4 isn't going to be for the next Xbox.
especially if you're into racers. And the way Criteron supports this game is unprecedented IMO. Plenty of bang for your buck.
Then again, I can understand if you're strapped for both cash and time with the games set to drop in the coming weeks.
50 mil for DLC that'll come out long after any one really cares save the GTA4 loyalist.
The Industry just went through a format war (as someone above stated) and are not going to want to play it out all over again. That's great that they have this new superior tech. Maybe some major studios release a movie here or there on it but the majority of movies will be Blu-ray and DVD. Any more than that would be over saturation of the market and no good for consumers, distributors, or retailers.

I opted to wait for PS3. I feel the in-game shots look pretty darn impressive and I can't wait to see what the final game looks like. Day one for sure.
they flexed their mighty dollars and got timed exclusivity on what Japan cares about most--RPGs. Also, and regardless of what you or I may think about this, the decision to produce a console lacking some of the extras of PS3 (that I love btw) have allowed them to become the cheapest option of the three. Put aside what you pay after you get those extras (that, again, I love), you can walk in and get a 360 for less than any of the others.
