is to see more KZ2 footage. I wrote GS off as a biased site a long time ago. Actually it was right after they gave R&C:FTOD such a low score. It appears they're trying to get things right (R2 was AAA and deservedly so). Perhaps I'll start frequenting their site more often.
good price for the game. I would've liked 9.99 but 14.99 is still within the realm of reasonability. Off to read about it. If there's online fighting then it's a must buy.
Edit: okay, online is there and a free soundtrack? I'm there. Just when I thought I was done with games for the holiday season they take another 15 bucks outta my pocket!
No trophies at launch would've been a deal breaker if the game were 5 bucks more. But for 14.99 I can do without trophies right...
I read or heard that trophies couldn't be the carbon copy of achievements. I wonder if that's still true. Either way, glad to say that trophies will be in any and every game from Jan 09 out. Although after picking up R2 and LBP the only game left on my radar is KZ2....at least for the foreseeable future.
Silogon, you talk about Sony dropping the price as if they had no need to earn a profit on the PS3. As if they had an infinite amount of money they could lose or continue to lose. Sony is a public corporation. Shareholders like a company that makes money. Losing money on a product doesn't look good. And Sony lost some major dollars with the PS3 so far just because they were selling the machine well below cost. I'm sure you know that Sony was losing major dollars even when the system was going...
except the icons are so big that you could never have a theme in the background and see it or enjoy it? Improvement on the blade system but XMB is still easier on the eyes.
you gotta give it to Sony on style alone. Their systems just look better than the competitions'. Their boxes just look cooler. Even games with the same box art (i.e. multiplats) tend to look better in the PS3 casing. The green and white just looks so bland and generic compared to the stylistic piano black and PS3 font.

The PS2 ads were possibly some of the best ever. The PSP ads were funny and cool. The PS3 ads...well there was the melting plastic baby and the white room with David Wright hitting a baseball. Plain weird. They've come along way since then. Last years ad (DO YOU WANT IT!!! DO YOU FEEL IT!!!) were great, but the marketing fury that we see MS and others put forward wasn't there.
Why no McDonald's LBP happy meal? Why no Burger King Resistance 2 promo? C'mon Sony. MS practically made...
seriously, I'm in the clear minority of my friends by owning a PS3. Not that they're biased against the system; they're just plain ignorant of it. Some still think that PSN is what it was when the system launched.
And going to retailers can be a pain. Granted, I don't take crap like that from some kid getting minimum wage to provide customer service. Not that I'm some tough guy or something, I'm just not adverse to letting someone know what they're job is and that I'm a customer...
and it's crazy hard. I'm playing on the stage called "The River" or something like that. The key before was holding down the house, picking up a shield as soon as possible, and planting the shield by the steps to keep the beastriders from getting to the top floor. That strategy no longer works and the guys are just insanely difficult.
by saying that I only sell my games on Ebay and never at GS. Why? Because I get like double my money by selling on Ebay. I mean yeah, I'm sure some of you will have bad luck but isn't that true with almost any retailer? Best buy was selling empty boxes to people a year ago. Some people buy used systems that just don't work from GS. But Ebay, for the most part, and it's feedback system has been great imo. And I've had some bad experiences too.

Sony can't lower the price because they need to actually turn a profit on that thing and that they'd rather lose the console war and earn a profit with the PS3 then win the war and bankrupt the company? Just a thought.
I can't imagine how different that'll make the gameplay in multiplayer. Can't wait for this one. Undisputed graphics king. I hope Sony markets the bleep outta this.
My, and many others, first DVD player was a PS2. In fact, one of the chief motivating factors was the ability to have a DVD player and watch the Matrix.
I'm not saying watching movies is the ONLY factor. Not at all. But that in conjunction with Sony's inhouse games, their solid history of gaming, AND all the other features of the PS3 made my decision for me and I don't think I'm alone.
If you don't have an HDTV and don't plan on getting one then blu-ray is a non-issu...
You pay for what you get. Whether one system is more powerful than the other aside, the included features, multi-functionality, and FREE online connectivity of PS3 paid for itself. What I would've paid for Wifi connector, XBox live, and a bigger HDD would've made buying a 360 way more expensive than PS3.

not that I think someone should blow smoke; if the game has problems please tell me. The main gripes most people had is how the story was so lackluster. As if I'm sitting down to play this shooter and would throw the controller because the chimera aren't explained in the most dramatic way possible. The game is great and worth the purchase.
P.S...this is not on the level of Gears 2 graphically. It's a pretty game, but it's not. BUT....KZ2 will surpass Gears 2 in the very near fut...

I don't know what school you went to, but B is above average in most schools across the US. C is actually average. D being below average...and so on and so on.
Not a bad score for this game. I don't know how someone with either a PS3 or 360 could find the time to play this, Gears and/or R2, and still get some COD4 in once and awhile, but hey, I guess that's what Christmas break is for.
the hardcores are the ones that bought a PS3 to play the game thinking it was going to be PS exclusive. I don't mind it being multiplat, but if the game is in any way less than what it could have been because now it has to be built for two systems as opposed to one, yeah...that group is going to be p'd. I'll be one of them too.
Look at the masterpiece that was MGS4. That's what I was expecting from Square. Hope they don't let me down.
maybe those 2 million are playing the game rather than trolling? Don't spew your hate just because the game is a hit with the critics. It's on a 400 dollar console with the smallest installed base of the three. No excuses. I hope it drives units. Let's see what happens after the holiday season.
