Every game is "boring, 6 hour long crap" according to some random guy on the internet.
I think I'd rather play it and make up my own mind.
It's got stiff competition in the form of SCIV, Rondo, SotN & Aria, but then again, I'm not going to say it's impossible for a new 3D 'vania to surpass those classics either.
To be so pessimistic about the future is a depressing way to go through life :)
I wouldn't be so sure these work or consoles. Most wired console headsets require USB (for power) + a hookup to your AV cables for sound. Even the wireless ones usually use a USB dongle that you plug your AV cables into. I haven't seen any that play sound through USB only.
These are marketed for PC, and unless there is an AV hookup, I would wait for confirmation regarding console compatibility. That's part of the reason I got the Ear Force PX21's (great set ...
"So what you are saying is that if all your friends got RROD you wouldn't mind it if you did too because you all got RROD together?"
LOL, that's like the definition of how to fail at making an analogy.
I gave a logical answer. You replied with typical fanboy bile.
Unlike RROD, as you amusingly spout, Xbox Live is an online service. It's a little different from a hardware failure. Whether it is "worth it" or not is ...
I occasionally play online with my PS3, but most of my friends are on Live, so that's where I spend the majority of my time.
If all my friends owned PS3s and played online, then maybe things would be different, but most of them don't, and the ones that do tend to be single-player gamers rather than competitive multiplayer people.
It's as simply as that. If your social circle is on Live and you enjoy playing with them for a year more than you e...
Hehe, I'm in the same boat as Alpha. Pushed halfway through on legendary, realized I was just punishing myself, and dialed it down to heroic for my 2nd playthrough. Heroic feels just right.
Granted, I'll probably go back and force myself through the rest of solo legendary at some point, but for now I'll just take a little rest....
Ah politics, because there just isn't enough divisive vitriol between gamers already...
Basically, they need to heavily improve the AI, both enemies and (especially) allies. The poor AI was what mainly what broke the last game.
I'd be excited for this, if only I knew for sure that it was getting a western release...
Activision's Demise? Sorry, but it will take a lot more than Kotick's big mouth to bring down ActiBlizz.
They're both cheap enough nowadays that there's no reason for any real gamer not to own both a PS3 and a 360, unless you're seriously dirt poor that is. Having religious loyalties to either corporation is just pathetic.
Yeah, not trying to start a war here, but I trust my own eyes after seeing them side-by-side over IGN. The review is probably spot on about the draw distances and load times, but there's no comparison at all with the framerates I witnessed, and other sources report the total opposite with regards to textures, although they look pretty identical to me, minus the impact of the slightly different contrast ratio.
I believed the reviews too, and that's part of the reason...
@Yo Mama: What struck me was the framerate. It's very noticeably lower on PS3. Other aspects of the game may look better, I haven't done an in-depth comparison. After putting over a hundred hours into the game, I was just surprised at how much smoother the other version ran.
I hope so too, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
After getting Oblivion GOTY edition for my PS3 and seeing how much smoother my sister's copy of the game ran on 360, I decided to get Fallout 3 for 360, and will probably do the same with future releases.
If Bethesda, who is actually responsible for the engine (or at least responsible for modifying gamebryo), can't get it right, I have little faith in Obsidian going the extra mile.
It's called unified RAM. The PS3 has a lower RAM bottleneck, which is why multiplats usually have a higher framerate on 360. Devs can get around this by offloading some operations onto the cell's SPUs, but few go the extra mile to do that.
Visuals also often have less jaggies due to better GPU AA, and load times for non-installed games are usually better since the 360's DVD drive reads at a faster rate than the PS3's bluray drive (which is why so many PS3 ga...
Uncharted is a 3rd person shooter. Enslaved is a action adventure in the vien of Prince or Persia. Totally different styles of games.
That's wonderful, but then you're clearly not looking for an alternative, and so this article doesn't apply to you.
Personally I think it looks like a promising controller for people who are.
The Reach sequence after the credits was an excellent touch, and unlike a lot of the phone-it-in reviews that disparaged the campaign, I found Reach to have one of the best fictional war stories in gaming, but I still think RDR hit me harder overall.
I love that a lot of gamers hate the RDR ending because it's not the ending they wanted. THAT's when you know the writing is good - when something is able to give you such an emotional response that people feel the need...
I'll be getting both. Enslaved looks awesome, and I loved the demo, even if the platforming is a little automatic feeling (they should have added leaning animations when climbing and pushing the control stick towards a grapple point). Very atmospheric.
"Or when I first played Oblivion."
And there you have my feelings. Exclusives are great and all, but to hell with all that fanboy squabbling, just give me Elder Scrolls V.
Also, more excited for Deus Ex 3 than any 2011 exclusive (although I will pick up Killzone 3 and Gears 3....that's a lot of 3's....)
