Part of what makes Reach impressive is the scope. 30+ AIs and vehicles on-screen at once, plus wide-open environments with long draw distances, plus split-screen.
I haven't seen any other game with Reach's visual fidelity pull all that off.
Clearly a lot of people disagree. You foolish Halo fans need to understand that flashy graphics are truly the only thing that matters.
Things like great gameplay, deep customization, and massive amounts of content and gameptypes are only important to the weak minded who fail to see the truth of graphics > all else!
/sarcasm
Considering how many people will be buying Reach, it's probably not going to be as common as some people fear. Those grabbing Lenendary copies are still just a small percent of the huge customer base.
When you're Valve, you know better than to tack on unneeded crap so as to make another bullet point on the back of the box.
Maybe he worships the Master Chief?
Bungie actually made changes based on community feedback from the beta (reticle bloom speed, grenade strength, player movement speed, jump height, ammo count and damage for certain weapons, melee speed and delay, HUD for objectives on certain game types, vehicle armor strength, and more...).
They made a TON of updates and improved the game. How is that a bad thing?
Wow, I actually totally agree with this list.
Lufia 2 was awesome. It totally deserves the mention.
This is a good list, although it's too bad that so many great JRPGs never made it over to the west during the SNES era (such as SoM2/SD3).
Not even Kratos could resist! (OK, so Kratos never resists...)
By this same logic the best game this year will undoubtably be Halo Reach or Black Ops.
The peoples are voting with their wallets!!!
Fallout 3's world is good, but the character animation is in desperate need of improvement. Even Todd Howard said as much.
I'm not too bothered by this, as I'll enjoy the game regardless of the graphics provided that the gameplay is up to snuff, but the engine is definitely showing its age.
Glad to see Sega aren't being dicks like Square Enix was with the Chrono Trigger remake. This kind of thing can only give them free buzz for the Sonic brand.
Already labeled overrated by people who haven't even played it yet.
But there have been a ton of awesome DLC titles this summer. I've enjoyed several of them more than some full-priced games.
What's more glaring is the lack of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, especially considering it's one of the highest-selling and most-played co-op games in the world.
While Reach is what I'm mainly looking forward to, I have to say that Amnesia: Dark Descent looks awesomely errie. If the trailers are any indication, I might have to pick this up.
Enslaved is not the sequel to Heavenly Sword (which sold well). It's a new IP, and I think the game is sufficiently different from MoH to set it apart.
If anything, Enslaved's closest competition this fall will be from Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
Brink looks awesome, and I'm all for them taking their time to polish it to perfection.
But man am I going to be poor during the first few months of 2011. So many games...
Never Underestimate CHUCK NORRIS!
What's this? Square Enix, the company that has churned out a bazillion KH spinoffs on every portable platform, is now making one for the 3DS as well? Who would have thought!
Instead of another side story, just give us KH3 already and actually move the plot forward.
