Seriously? Heavy Rain and Kirby's Epic Yarn are polar opposites. It's totally possible for a person to like one of those games and not like the other. How is that in any way hyprocritical?
Regardless of whether you care for Jim's opinions or not, if you're going to call him a hypocrite, at least understand the definition of the word...
To be fair, he's not going to state anything other than either (A) the obvious or (B) wild predictions, so long as he's talking for free.
Like it or not, Pachter does have one thing going for him - he has a lot of industry contacts, and thus hears about a lot of inside deals before they reach N4G - but he would lose those contacts (and the money he makes) if he just ran his mouth everytime he heard anything.
I got it cheaper than this during one of the Black Friday sales. It was worth it, as the game is just plain fun.

I think you're selling the technology a little short.
Games like Heavy Rain, Uncharted and Enslaved definitely have great, expressive animations, but the Motion Scan tech used in L.A. Noire is not just "pretending to be different", it *IS* fundamentally different.

If you read the article (which is actually worth reading, it's not an "I've never played a video game before" article), they're largely talking about the facial animation and convincing performances of the virtual actors:
"The woman I’m speaking to is lying. I don’t need to listen to what she’s saying; I can tell from her body language that she is unnerved by my questions. Her body is slightly turned away from me, her arms are folded and she is ne...
Agreed that Dead Space isn't really survival horror. It's ACTION horror.
*Survival* horror implies vulnerability, and it's hard to feel vulnerable when, after a few upgrades, Isaac basically becomes an invincible walking tank that devastates everything in his path.
Wahlberg is capable of giving a good performance....just not as Drake.
Drake is a likeable smartass, and when Wahlberg does smartass, he comes off as annoying rather than likeable.
But whatever, its not like the movie is sticking to the games in any form whatsoever. It's just sad that it kills our chances of seeing a real Uncharted flick.
Save the next gen for TESVI. If I have to wait any longer for V I may just go crazy.
Thank the Nine.
Preproduction work started a year before Fallout 3 released.
With that iconic 11-11-11 released date, I highly doubt Beth will let this one slip.
There have already been 188 "TES V ideas and suggestions" threads on the official forums...
This is one potential I hope remains untapped.
Agreed, moreover...
"It’s time to face the facts: single player role-playing experiences without online functionality are a dying breed."
Yeah, because MMOs that aren't WOW just rake in all the money these days....
Most MMOs are NOT huge cash cows. Most of them FAIL. Most NEVER COME CLOSE to the money that games like Oblivion and Fallout 3/New Vegas raked in.
Just because *one* of them is phenomenon does...

Statements and opinions are not mutually exclusive. You can state an opinion.
Again, I'm sorry, but even on the internet, you should be able to tell whether what someone is saying is an opinion or not (without them having to spell it out for you).
Heck, both of the top examples that Lionhead wanted to correct even used the word "BEST"! Is there anyone here who seriously can't tell an "X game is t...
@Lionhead
"You all forgot to mention in your opinion."
Please, we really don't need the "imo police" here.
Oh no! For a second there I though that RandomInternetGuy's statement about "the best game evarz" was an objective fact!
...If you seriously can't tell when someone on the internet is stating an opinion, then you should probably find a new way to pass the time.

"WRONG..you have to make consumers THINK that the product your selling is sold out to increase demand. That way, later on, when the product is put on stands....theres a feeding frenzy."
Yes, Nintendo is famous for limiting shipped units in this way to try and stimulate higher demand, although most economists agree that it backfired - they would have sold more Wiis in the initial years if they had made them less difficult to com...
If you think shipped and sold are the same "money in your pocket" scenario for a company, you're an idiot, plain and simple.
Understand 2 things:
1) Time Frame: You can ship 10 million units of a product in a week and not sell them for 10 months. Shipped is "expected demand". Sold is actual demand. It's the SOLD numbers that really matter to investors (hence why "first week sales" are so looked at), not the shipped.

Yeah, it's rare when a trailer that doesn't give you much of any glimpse into the gameplay makes you want a game, but this one pulled it off. I'm a sucker for a unique atmosphere.
Technically, the first Tomb Raider was released on the Sega Saturn and PC before the PS1.
And being exclusive to one platform would not automatically make any game better...
