This is the statement:
“It’s not my game,” he said. “My commitment is to make sure that I and you and we all finally get to play the game we’ve been waiting for all this time. So the commitment that I’ve made with my studio is to make sure 3D Realms’ vision is realised.”
From that, the article derives "not the game I would have made" - Randy never says those words, because they can obviously be taken in the wrong context, which seems to be what ...
What? Battlefield and Ghost Recon are drastically different games. GR is a squad-based tactical shooter. It's not even 1st person...
That said, Ubi has really dropped the ball on promoting this. I was pretty excited after last year's E3, but since then they've just gone dark for way too long. With all the other big games announced that are actually getting promoted, Ubi will have a tough time getting this back on people's radar.
So Gears 3 and Rage in September. Will definitely be picking up both.
Holy crap at the lighting.
The visuals look like a huge jump, and all that while giving us even more destructibility....Can't wait!
John Brandon is one blogger that writes for the personal editorial section of the Fox News website. He doesn't eactly speak on behalf of News Corp, which is a huge organization.
It's just that putting "Fox News" in the headline generates a lot more hits than saying "John Brandon calls for censorship", etc.
Like Condemned is fine with me. That and Riddick have some of the most brutal 1st-person melee out there, which blends well with atmosphere-heavy survival horror.
It's not so much capitalism, as it is the corporate culture in the games industry, and simple supply and demand in the labor force.
There are plenty of leading, competitive companies that are good places to work. Unfortunately, long hours, low pay and nonexistant job security are par for the course in the games biz.
This is thanks largely to a surplus of people that want to "make games for a living".
Whenever you have a ba...
But time is valuable, and you can't get it back.
Putting off your life - including starting a family if that's what you want to do - until you've "made it" (which is never for most people in the games industry) can lead to you just watching a lot of years go by.
Even if you find a job where the money is good, there's no guarantee it will stay that way. Investments can tank, people get laid off, sudden unforseen expenses can hit,...
They deserve the praise. That trailer was awesome. Hope the game lives up.
Yeah, I've been waiting for that too. I've already got a backlog of other games waiting to be finished, but with $20 credit I'll have to give in :)
The whole aspect of competing with your friends for skill points just seems like it would have made this game ideal for co-op...
I just hope it wasn't cut because of "the story". You can tell a perfectly good story in single player and still have a "to hell with it, now there's an invisible companion tagging along!" co-op mode there just for fun. It doesn't detract from the solo experience, just gives gamers more options, which is always a go...

No, what makes us look bad is a bunch of knee-jerk reactions from gamers, resorting to childish name calling and other nonesense instead of intelligently refuting the claims.
Yes, because in the real world, a 1 to 10 scale actually equals a 6 to 10 scale. Us real world people don't believe in numbers below 6!
I agree with those wanting a new director.
God of War 3 had some of the series' best high points, but also some of its lowest low points. It was inconsistent compared to 1 & 2.
The smarter enemies (like the satyrs) were underused. The "epicness" spiraled downward after Chronos. And narratively, the redemption theme never really gelled with Kratos' character (especially considering how brutal and uncaring he was for the first 2/3rds o...
Yes it sucks, but I don't think we've seen the last of what Mirror's Edge did best: 1st person free running.
Brink is taking a similar concept and applying it to the FPS genre, and I'm sure others will follow with deeper implementations. We should be glad that at least Mirror's Edge had an impact.
I think these are simply cropped images from the GI scans, especially considering a few of them cut off directly where the pages are divided...
Skyrim is no mere contender.
It's the front runner.
co-op challenge rooms would have been cool (like the unlockable stealth and fighting challenges in the first game), but yeah, for the main game I'm glad it's staying single-player.
Don't worry, another FPS would no doubt rise to the top, get milked, become the next "cool to hate" franchise, and subsequently burn out, paving the way for the cycle to repeat again....
Indeed. A thing of beauty.
God those new towns look awesome. And everything... Gaaah! *explodes in nerdgasm
Edit: For those having trouble with main page or waiting for Youtube to process, it's now up on Gametrailers as well!
