At this point, WoW is like Facebook. It's a social network as much as a game.
I think Rift looks good, but being a good game isn't enough to make something a "WoW killer". Drawing those types of comparisons just doesn't make sense anymore.
The original never grabbed me, but this looks like a solid improvement, and just plain fun. Might have to check it out.
Pretty impressive. If the customization and monster variety is at all comparable to Monster Hunter, then this could be one to look out for.
True, but Brotherhood was built on the foundation of AC2. They already had a lot of material and assets to work with.
If the next game takes place in a whole new region & era (as I hope it would), that short development time will make it very hard to pump out the same amount of content.
The real question is: How does the infection spread?
Is it airborne? In the water supply? Can we avoid it or is it so pervasive than anyone who is not immune is screwed?
As long as the only way to get infected is to get bitten by a zombie, then most of us would survive simply by outlasting the them (assuming some semblance of science, they would all eventually starve to death).
Just take the series back to its roots. The first several Tony Hawk games were great fun, before it got bogged down with misguided attempts at realism and innovation.
Also, don't go back to a yearly milking schedule. Brand burnout is what compelled the developers to force crazy changes to the series in the first place. Give it at least 2 years between releases.
@kratos123
"so by your logic i can also say that ff7 isnt a rpg?"
OK, I'll bite :) How exactly does my statement relate at all WHATSOEVER to FF7?
Are you trying to say that FF7 was a Diablo-style action-RPG? Last I checked, it was a JRPG with turn-based battles (which I enjoy), a good balance between dungeons and towns, plenty of NPCs and dialogue, etc. I really don't see how it relates to this discussion at all... May...
For someone who is accusing me of not having my facts straight, you seem to have a total lack of evidence.
The devs have repeatedly described the game as an *action-RPG*. Notice how they've talked almost exclusively about combat? That's what the game is about.
If you're expecting a similar number of NPCs or lines of dialgue to a Bethesda or Bioware game, or the option to sneak past enemies rather than engage them, etc., then you must not have ...
Looks good for a Diablo-style action RPG.
With the talent involved, it upsets me a little that we won't get a full-on RPG with tons of NPCs, dialogue and alternatives to combat, but for an open-world dungeon crawler this seems fairly promising.
"...Greed which prohibits consumer to have a true choice in just about all we buy."
Seriously? US consumers generally have *more* choices than the rest of the world. We're practically overloaded with retailers and products being thrown at us from every direction.
You can bet that if one platform went 100% digital downloads, a competing platform would try and take advantage by attracting customers with physical media. That's how capitalis...
The others are debatable, but I definitely agree with VI taking the top spot. That game and Chrono Trigger are still what I consider to be the height of the JRPG genre.
Ah, the good old SNES days, when turn-based combat was perfectly fine, and JRPGs didn't get bogged down with excessive so-called "innovation"...
60fps does make a difference. Whether you're playing Call of Duty or Gran Turismo 5, everything feels smooth as butter at 60.
That said, I can live with 30fps as long as it's stable. No big frame rate drops when buildings come falling down, etc. 30fps is the price we pay for all that destruction, and I'm sure BF3 will look good enough that most of us will forgive it.
Agreed. Turning this into an "our game is better" pissing match just makes you look like you're trying too hard.
Let BF3 speak for itself. I honestly have no doubt that the multiplayer will be stellar, but I hope we don't get stuck with a 4 hour campaign.
Good chance it'll be a contender, and given how packed this year is that says a lot. It's definitely looking awesome.
Oh come on, you know you love Bizarre Jelly 5!

True, but business has to keep flowing if Japan going to recover economically. Delayed product launches, particularly for exported products that will bring revenue into the country, doesn't make the situation any better.
Really looking forward to this. Love how much customization they're adding.
Hopefully Xillia will get brought over *regardless* of how Graces F sells.
I'm not confident on Graces F appealing to non-hardcore Tales fans. Xillia, simply by being developed for the PS3 from the ground-up, is more likely to suck in series newcomers. The idea of tying Xillia's potential release to how well Graces F sells makes no business sense.
In other news: Human Revolution to include "fewer fatalities than Mortal Kombat"
Good review. I like how Joe went as far as to get into costume for each song :)
