Batman will sell fine, as will AC:R and Skyrim.

I'd be more worried about titles like Rayman Origins, which looks great but may fall under the radar for many.

Far Cry 2 was one of those games that was *so close* to being a masterpiece, but was set back by a few hard to ignore flaws.

Hopefully Far Cry 3 will correct them and realize the series' full potential.

I don't know about "thrive", but hopefully it will sell well. Definitely looks like a solid improvement over R2.

From the article: "At times, it's easy to forget that we're even playing a Battlefield game. Pushing through tight urban environments and controlling choke points, the basic gunplay is all so shiny that our brains keep being temporarily tricked into thinking we're playing Call of Duty."

This is my only concern. I'll be getting both MW3 and BF3, but I hope BF3 plays sufficiently like a BF game, and doesn't try to imitate its rival in half the maps...

That some gamers complain about this just shows how out of touch they are.

Look at figures for Batman or Wolverine or any popular character and you'll find that there is a lot of variation, as hundreds of different artists all do their own unique take on the character.

This particular artist has given us his take on Liara, and now people complain that it's not a carbon copy of the game model? Why should it be? Stop complaining and be glad the Mass Eff...

Yeah, love the Studio Ghibli look. I really hope this gets localized.

Definitely one of Jim's best reviews, and one of the most helpful I've read about the game.

You can imagine the frustration when he describes certain glitches, but also the satisfaction when talking about how rewarding the combat can be.

I don't know any 360 owners who care about this at all, but for some reason the PS3-only crowd on N4G seems highly concerned...

If you don't own a 360, why do you care so much? Sure, I bough LA Noire for PS3 since I didn't want to swap disks while playing through the story, but in a game like BF3 where single player and multiplayer are separate disks, it really doesn't matter. I'd be more interested in getting the version for the controller I prefer to ho...

Sheeeet Cap'n, you better bring your A game if you want to play in Jensen's neighborhood.

As soon as I knew Wayforward was making this, it was on my radar. Those guys always put out awesome 2D games.

@M-Easy

"The fact that you said "black friend" says you see him/her as black 1st and a friend 2nd."

OR maybe it could be that I was putting that person in context of this news story...

You know, because if I simply said "I showed this to my friend, and they laughed their ass off" the statement could then be taken in a totally different way. It could lose its meaning or mean something else entirely.

@M-Easy

Seriously? Where I work, you naturally make friends with people of plenty of different races. Maybe you've lived a very sheltered existence?

I showed this to one of my black friends, and he just laughed his ass off.

People need to chill out and stop making mountains out of mole hills. Getting offended over every little thing just makes you look like a tool.

Honestly, a list like this without COD4 is hard to take seriously.

I know it's popular to hate on COD these days, but MW1 is probably the single most defining game of this generation (not to mention it was actually quite good).

It's my top game so far this year as well. Heck, I'd put it up there with the best games this gen.

As much as I enjoyed games like Portal 2 and Dead Space 2, Deus Ex has just pulled me into its world on a whole other level. Don't know if it will beat out Skyrim for my personal GOTY, but it's pretty fantastic.

After playing Deus Ex:HR, I'm really hoping the next SC better have nonlethal takedowns, better level design (bring back vents & crawlspaces!) and the ability to move/hide bodies.

Human Revolution isn't even a pure stealth game, but the stealth gameplay really puts Conviction to shame.

Considering I still have yet to pick up a Motion Plus Wiimote, this collection will be a definite buy for me.

Sometimes realism isn't worth the tradeoff.

Not even GTA has allowed you to murder kids, as that would get the game an instant AO rating and end up with it banned from many retailers and some countries altogether.

Honestly, I'm just glad that the game has children at all. As long as they run away when attacked, I doubt them being unkillable will be that big of a deal.

I have to agree with your "fearless AI" observation. It would be nice if the AI actually feared death a little and knew when to run away and sound an alarm or wait for reinforcements.

This was present in both the original Deus Ex and Thief, and did add another level of thought (and believability) to the encounters. I loved how injured guards in Thief would run off yelling "Comrades, to my aid!" etc.

Now you've got me hoping Thief 4 doe...
