I played a crazy amount of UT99 back in the day. Definitely a classic. On the consoles, I'd say Halo remains my favorite for straight-up TDM, and Battlefield for objective-based multiplayer.
Probably just has to do with the PS3 version getting "transfarring".
Hehe, that's my new favorite word.
With the press of a button, you can switch back and forth between the regular pizza and the HD remastered pizza.
Or they just don't want to spoil the opening?
Will some people complain about the combat? Sure. Guess what? That's fine. It's an RPG, and the last thing we need is another RPG trying to be an action game and appeal more to COD fans than actual RPG fans.
In RPGs you have experience points, and that means your level 1 character can swing his axe right into the face of a level 50 enemy 100 times and still not kill him. That's fine. Experience poi...
It's true that my favorite games tend to have a good narrative but also let me totally ignore it if I want.
Games like Red Dead Redemption and Deus Ex come to mind as good examples. The downside is that the pacing is never as tight as with a more linear game such as Uncharted, which can be designed to have a specific sequence of narrative peaks and valleys.
Both styles work great for different game types, but my ideal game would probably sacrifice perfect...
"I always end up a jack-of-all-trades"
This probably summarizes most players' experience when it comes to TES.
I love to play as a thief, but there are skills from all the traditional classes that come in handy, and so it's easy to see why most polls on the subject result in the "jack of all trades/battlemage" class usually winning out. OXM should probably just go battlemage if they want to tell most people what to expect.
The difference is that in a game like Uncharted, you don't spend a lot of time navigating dialgue trees or allocating experience points. You're not pausing the game to issue squad commands or change armor or weapons based on a situation.
Mass Effect is an RPG, and RPG fans don't want to see the aspects described above go away in order to make for a more multiplayer-friendly experience.
From the look of things (they're basically just adding a c...
"It's fairly obvious the reviewers have spoken and they say that Uncharted 3 is the better game..."
Meanwhile, if Forza 4 has a higher metacritic score than GT5:
"Who cares about reviews? Decide for yourself!"
I get that N4G is a magnet for fanboys, but all the double standards lately are going to leave my forehead raw from face palming.
Demons Souls is more unforgiving. It punishes you more for failure.
However, Dark Souls is hands-down the harder game in terms of actual gameplay. The combat is deeper, there is a greater number of genuinely dangerous enemies, and you have fewer overpowered abilities (magic in Demons Souls basically turned the game into easy mode).
Basically, you'll die more often in Dark Souls, it's simply that the punishment for death isn't as steep (thanks larg...
Yeah, unless the main game features multiple protagonists.
I wouldn't mind a female lead personally, but as with movies, male leads usually = more sales.
Loved DarkStalkers, although the sequels were definite improvements over the original. Some of the slickest 2d animations from the Capcom CPS2 era.
Huh, well that's news to me!

This is looking like the sleeper hit of the season. Love the visuals, and the gameplay looks like a lot of fun.
That said, this trailer was already posted earlier today:

There's a perk that enables decapitation, but severing limbs won't be as over-the-top as in Fallout (which is a good thing).
The new footage in this preview just looks amazing. 11-11-11 can't come soon enough!
He already has a PS3.
Yeah, there's a difference between disturbing and scary. Heavy Rain has some unsettling moments, but I wouldn't call them "scares".
And while I'm glad to see Penumbra on the list, I'd rank Amnesia above several of the other selections. Also Eternal Darkness.
The figure is probably BS, but even if it was true, that would mean $120+ million in sales and only $2 million in losses due to piracy.
It's never good to see piracy, but after all the bad press the Origin scandal cost them, EA should feel lucky that they didn't lose more.
Got it when Newegg was doing the $12 off deal, but have to wait 3 days for shipping. That's going to be a long 3 days...
Sales only matter to fanboys when they reinforce their own personal bias. For example:
If Halo outsells Killzone: "Sales mean nothing! People are just brainwashed by marketing!"
If GT outsells Forza: "The market has spoken! It's obvious which game is better in the eyes of gamers!"
It's especially funny when those who take the later position turn around and hate on a game like COD. You'd think they would conside...
"While the ad is in French, the deal will be Canada wide."
Only in Canada? I might have jumped on this otherwise :(
