The hate for Reach just seems bizarre to me.
I've played through the campaign at least half a dozen times and still enjoy it (especially in co-op). And while I'll admit the multiplayer was a bit more competitive in Halo 3, I still had many hours of fun playing Reach online. It remains a very polished, very replayable game.
Not to mention those who live with brothers or sisters, or parents who want to play with their kids.
"Sure, I'll play with you son, when you get off your ass and move into your own place!" says the father to his 10 year old son.
Maybe someone should do a sociological study on the decline of splitscreen in relation to the declining size and stability of the nuclear family...
Some developers are better than others when it comes to adapting to the dualshock's looser analog sticks.
FC2 controlled perfectly well on PC and 360, but it wasn't as fine tuned as some other FPS games on PS3.
It's bad business as well. Fez is now going to be a magnet for criticism from people who don't like the attitude of its creator.
Fish is obviously not very bright.
True, but more processing power allows for new gameplay experiences on top of better graphics.
Look at this gen. The increased power of modern systems over the PS2-era consoles allowed for things like the crowd dynamics in Assassin's Creed, physics governing the many objects in Skyrim, etc.
The line between graphics and gameplay is very thin as far as technology is concerned.
Yeah, nothing to do with AC3. Besides, Bioshock Infinite was already slated for October before either of them.
They had a panel on sound featuring Thief 4 last year. I'm really dying to hear more about that game...
I'd say it's more than that. Any sequel that strays from the spirit of prior games = fan backlash.
You'll see the same thing when DMC hits, as well as Revengeance (even though it's a spinoff) and so on.
Sure, some fans are over-zealous. But on the other hand, publishers are trying to take advantage of those fans by leveraging brand recognition rather than making a new IP, so they can't really complain when their risk-averse tactics com...
Yeah, all the drama over "is BF3 just trying to copy COD!?" stories is still fresh in my mind.
Sadly, this is only the beginning. We'll get plenty more of these and articles like "is The Last of Us ripping off L4D!?" before the year is through...
With those visuals and the splitscreen co-op that Halo is known for? Not gonna happen.
Mods are great and definitely add to the value of games like TES, but that said, if Skyrim's DLC is similar in scope to Shivering Isles, I'll be very eager to get my hands on it....
On the one hand, I love Darkstalkers and want a new game badly.
On the other hand, I really don't know how I feel about it getting the polygon treatment. DS was one of the most beautiful 2D fighters ever, and I'd much prefer HD sprites to polygons, although I know how unlikely that is...
Mine would be:
1) Zelda: A Link to the Past
2) Super Metroid
3) Super Mario Allstars + World (released as a single cart in Europe)
4) Final Fantasy VI
5) Chrono Trigger
His main point is that the iconic assassin attire is just too out of place for the era. But let's be honest, that outfit would probably be just as out of place in Renaissance Italy and elsewhere.
I don't care what time and place you're living in, any guy wearing the assassin outfit would likely stand out, not blend in with the crowd as happens in the series.
But whatever, we're willing to sacrifice some realism for the sake of badass threads :...
Yeah, I'd rather discover this gem on my own, especially since it's on the short side.
Are you saying EvilSourceGaming has been deceived by their evil sources?
Then you might as well move on now, as MS holds the publishing rights to the first game.
Not bad, but the $200 holiday bundle around was still better. It included the 250 gig model with Reach and Fable 3, and frankly the other games can be bought for a lot less than the extra $170 you'd be paying with this offer.
Personally I'm waiting for Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus Alpha EX.
I was disappointed at first (was hoping for Victorian England), but the more I think about it, the more this strikes me as a great setting.
The reskinned urban settings of the post-AC2 games were starting to feel tired, and I love that this game is putting more emphasis on exploring a vast wilderness, scaling trees and mountains instead of the same old buildings, etc.
Revelations left me pretty burned out on the typical AC formula, and this setting alows ...
