I would add Kirby to this list.
Inhaling spikes, flames and high-voltage electricity can't be healthy. Plus you'd think he would have choked on something by now...
While they were fairly different games, I do agree that a lot of people played so many hours of Skyrim that they needed a break from fantasy RPGs.
Yeah, I decided to wait for Torchlight 2 and so far, judging from everything I've heard, I'm glad I did.
Also Aliens: Colonial Marines.
I just hope Dishonored stays on schedule. I'd hate for an interesting new IP to get pushed back just because of competition from the endless wave of sequels hitting in the Fall.
Spartan Ops mode or just a territory control mutliplayer match?
Essentially, Skyrim's combat is "good enough".
Combat has never been the core of Elder Scrolls, and if what you're primarily looking for is a deep combat system with multi-hit combos, counters and air-juggling, then the series really isn't for you.
TES excels at crafting a detailed, immersive world. Fans would rather see real bugs such as broken quests get ironed out, rather than the combat get "fixed" simply to appease the...
The weak opening didn't help the demo either. So many invisible walls! I was excited for Amalur initially, but the demo almost turned me off to the game altogether.
I'm pumped for GTAV, but I am skeptical about it being better than RDR.
Simply having open fields made the gameplay much more freeform versus the cramped streets of GTAIV.
If I have to go back to navigating crowded roads, I really hope the vehicles at least have more forgiving handling.
With these titles plus Borderlands 2, 2012 is looking like a good year for loot :)
This. We already know that a LoS sequel has been in the works, so an E3 reveal seems probable.
After watching the review, the score sounds fair.
I can see the faults they describe dragging the campaign down a bit, although everyone sounds enamored with the multiplayer. I'm more interesting in this for the solo game though, so I'm glad they didn't whitewash it and slap a 9 on the score just because the online is good.
People here tend to overlook MS's other strategy:
Pump money into XBLA games
MS does have exclusives, it's just that most of them are downloadable games now. I expect that we'll see more big budget exclusive retail games when they release their new console, but in meantime XBLA has been home to some pretty great titles.
It's absurd to claim that games like Journey or Fez aren't worthwhile exclusives. I've enjoyed...
@kikizoo
"but everybody has to remember than kZ3 solo part, was way better than any fps outside the same year, no competition!"
No. Resistance 3 was also released last year, and its campaign was easily better than KZ3. Crysis 2 also had a more meaty campaign with better pacing. There was definitely competition.
Yeah, Dead Space is action horror.
It's a great game, but after a few upgrades Isaac is basically a walking tank. The suspense comes more from intense action scenes and jump-out scares.
It's hard to feel a real sense of vulnerability when you're mercilessly dismembering everything in your path.
Why do people think this is some evil scheme?
Sony offers financing on a lot of their TVs and other electronic devices. Are they "evil" for giving buyers the choice?
Financing is an option. It *always* adds up to a higher end price, but some people prefer it anyways, and it's not like you won't still be able to buy the product outright if you want.
The only surprising aspect about this is that it hasn't happened sooner. ...
I'm definitely intrigued, but now I have a ton of questions (about game types, customization, will the camera angles stay fixed?...). It will be interesting to see if this is able to gain traction.
And while this raises my hype somewhat, I'll still be 1000% more excited when I see some single player footage.
I'm really hoping they make the solo game not just "bigger and more brutal", but actually add some new elements gameplay-wise. ...
You're ASKING for trolling?
Clearly trolls aren't the only ones with too much time on their hands...
"Serious" in fighting game terms.
Obviously games like Street Fighter and Tekken have plenty of ridiculous aspects to them as well. The point is that DOA's unlockable costumes and sex appeal wasn't some detrimental aspect that dragged down the rest of the game.
Those elements made DOA unique. If some people took the game less seriously as a result, who cares? Not every fighting game has to appeal to the same crowd.
Sorry, but I like having 20+ sexy costumes to unlock.
There's nothing wrong with a little sex appeal, and all those unlockables genuinely added replay value to the game. DOA doesn't have to be as serious as SF/VF/Tekken. It can be its own game with its own sexy quirks and be better for it.
The new Team Ninja just sounds like they're taking things too seriously.
The gothic vampire theme is great, but I do hope we get a decent amount of new land to explore as well.
So far this looks good, but not as expansive as Shivering Isles, and since Bethesda had talked about making Skyrim's DLC more on the scale of an expansion pack, they've set the bar pretty high.
